About this deal

In Franken Fran Frantic, it is implied that Gavrill had been going to Dr. Amatsuka for her body tunings due to her legitimately caring for his company and well-being, despite her vulgar and insulting language towards him. Didn't Think This Through: A short girl asked for a height increase from Fran in "Cosmetic Surgery". Due to the nature of the surgery (requiring her bones lengthened), she was confined to a wheelchair for 3 months after it. Her three-dot expression at the fact (especially since every other girl that had their surgeries done came right out) showed that she probably regretted the decision. Helpless Good Side: While recovering from getting cut in half bilaterally, Fran-M is nice and actually cares about her patients' quality of life, but is rather a pushover. Meaningful Name: Greek/Russian male-variant of "Gabriel", which is Hebrew for "God is my strong man". Hot Teacher: Temporarily became a high school teacher, and many male students blushed when she introduced herself to the class.

Contemplate Our Navels: Fran is prone to meditating on the nature of humanity, ethics and everything in between... after she's done the morally questionable and potentially unsafe operation, of course. a b c d e f g h "Franken Fran". Seven Seas Entertainment. Archived from the original on March 3, 2016 . Retrieved September 30, 2015. Christmas Episode: A Frantic episode is about Fran deciding to organise a Christmas party and invite multiple people she had met in the past, in the hope that Professor Madaraki may come too. Nobody turns up and Fran is feeling depressed... until a plane crashes nearby and Fran has to spend the night operating on the wounded passengers, but eventually runs out of organs and blood. They then catch a (bearded) spy trying to steal a biological weapon from Fran's hospital who challenges them to kill him and discover he is a universal donor, which allows Fran to save everyone at the expense of the spy's life. At the end she discovers evidence that the spy was a creation from Professor Madaraki's, and Fran wonders if he was his Christmas present to her, while Okita wonders if the crashed plane was part of the gift. Franken is a Mad Scientist who thinks that there's nothing worse than death and has a case of Blue-and-Orange Morality but she does have geunine good intentions and cares very much about her patients which she does best to help them even though it might lead to disaster. If someone is about to die anyway, she does let Adorea harvest the person's organs. This has to happen before death or the organs could suffer damage. She only wants the best for humanity and is easily swayed by sob stories. However, she is also the direct cause of many plagues on humanity, revealed to us Once an Episode. Hammerspace: Those blades of her are about as long as her entire body. Somehow, she seems to manage to hide them inside her sleeves.

During the second World War, Naomitsu worked for the Biochemistry Division, earning fame and the moniker of "Devil of Biology" and "Spider's Thread" due to the nature of his experiments. He is considered a top-class thinker in the field of biotechnology. Given his service in the war, he is presumed to be quite old, constantly traveling the world for the sake of his research. His current whereabouts are unknown to Fran. Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite her sadsitic, violent and ruthless nature she does show compassion and kindness as the series goes on, such as genuinely caring about Dr. Amatuska and being nice to him. Some people of unusual tastes manage to out-creep, though the argument could be, as a doctor, she has issues with people who obsessively cause themselves pain. In one chilling scary case, she notes to a politician (who just tried to have Dr. Amatsuka assassinated) that even though Gavrill will tear him limb to limb for the act, Gavrill is a saint compared to her when she gets angry. This is because Gavrill will at least let him die. She then lets him know, on no uncertain terms that she knows he was responsible for the assassination attempt and she is not happy about it. And I Must Scream: A lot of Fran's patients wind up in this boat, temporarily or permanently, whether they deserve it or not.

Motherly Scientist: Well, certainly sees herself as one, as she takes care of her creations and her creator's on a daily basis. The truth is... somewhat more complicated. Ax-Crazy: Gavrill. Not only does she love tearing people to shreds, she also likes to eat their corpses. After Dr. Amatsuka prevented her from killing anyone during her time as a school teacher, she was absolutely delighted when the school was taken over by a group of kidnappers, allowing her to finally unleash her lust for bloodshed. Frankenstein's Monster: Very similar visually, with the stitches and the head bolts. Frankly, she even makes her own monsters, thus she also counts as a Dr. Fakenstein. Super-Senses: Specifically, an incredible sense of smell, to the point where she can identify the perpetrators of a crime just by sniffing around the area. However, she can't exactly turn it off, which means what few things she actually likes about her job as a high school teacher are overshadowed by the constant smell of semen and menstrual fluid. A young girl saved from death by Naomitsu Madaraki, though by the time he did it was too late to fully restore her. She now serves as a walking organ bank, consuming and storing organs for whenever they might be needed.

Howl - A butler with the face of a dog and the body of an adult human male. He calls Fran "Mademoiselle". Howl receives phone calls and makes tea. He behaves in a relaxed, sophisticated manner. Butt-Monkey: Things rarely ever go well for her and is usually played for comedy, with a few exceptions. Dr. Amatsuka - A friend of Madaraki’s since the days of the old Japanese Empire. His various achievements have earned him the title of Viscount in England. He has an open bet with Madaraki on the existence of God. Green, Scott (April 28, 2015). "Seven Seas Licenses "Franken Fran" Manga". Crunchyroll . Retrieved October 11, 2015.Casting Couch: Invoked, and a rare male example. The small time actor Tooru Yukizaki only got his pheromones adjusted so that producers and big wigs will take notice of him and put him in their projects, with his acting securing the rest of media attenion. Instead, the big wigs end up liking him so much that he's "invited" to multiple gatherings to entertain them and reluctantly act out their kinks. He ultimately gets plastic surgery and removes his hormone secretion gland just to make them stop hounding him, but the damage is done, and they have their way with him even with an ugly face. Only Sane Mancat: Is often the one to mention (to himself) that what happens is horrifying, but that Fran doesn't even realize. The mantle of a superhero that gets taken up by multiple people, all of whom gained their powers after being modified by Fran, on their own request. There are currently four sentinels, with the next one existing as a reaction to or result of the former, and they exist simultaneously. All of them are dressed in a dark outfit with a insect-like helmet, reminiscinent of Kamen Rider. Despite calling themselves good guys, every one of them (except the 4th) is extremely amoral, which is taken so far that they are considered terrorists by some. All of them Butt-Monkey: In just about every chapter with her, something happens at the expense of her sanity. Those things were mostly Played for Laughs. Losing Your Head: Occasionally has her head laying somewhere else than on her shoulders while her body is working on something, for some reason.

Ambiguous Innocence: Played for laughs. She generally doesn't realize that some of her actions, namely the ones that have the victims begging for death, are unethical. She's been called out on a few occasions, and there are even a few instances where she's fully aware of the horrific implications without anyone bringing it up... but still doesn't care as a result of her "all life is beautiful" philosophy. She's like a kid, if a kid has the power to mutate people for fun, profit, or both. Dark Is Not Evil: Depending on how you interpret her character, Fran is either an example or a subversion — she looks like a stereotypical horror monster (if a bit cuter), yet comes off as reasonable and nice at first glance. Then she starts dragging people off to her lab to use them as human experiments For Science!... Airvent Escape: Fran tries this but her butt is too big. Solution? Cut off her legs and walk home on her hands. The creator of Fran and her "siblings". An unseen character, he owns the mansion that Fran lives in but has not lived there for a long time.Franken Fran ( フランケン・ふらん, Furanken Furan) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Katsuhisa Kigitsu. [4] It was serialized in Champion Red from September 2006 to February 2012 and has been compiled into 8 tankōbon volumes by Akita Shoten. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the series for publication in North America. A sequel series, Franken Fran Frantic, began on February 19, 2019. I'm a Humanitarian: That's one of the ways she can store spare organs and different blood types for Fran. It makes her look a bit chunky, though. It's also not necessarily lethal, as she can spit them out before they die (Fran does still need to heal them, though). The series is licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment, who announced their plans to release it in four 2-in-1 omnibus volumes starting in February 2016. [2] [5] Volumes [ edit ] No. Dr. Naomitsu Madaraki - During the world war this scientist worked for the Biochemistry Division, earning fame and the moniker of “Devil of Biology”. He was and is considered a top-class thinker in the field of biotechnology. He has also been called the “Spider’s Thread” due to some of his surgical operations involving human resurrection. After the war he moved from country to country for the sake of his research, although apparently he has returned home in recent years. At the moment his whereabouts are unknown. If he is still alive then it is estimated that he must be quite old. Dr. Madaraki defined World War II to be “a war to kill the gods” because of its promotion of scientific development and the erosion of religion accompanied by it.
