Marchetti notes that one of the recurring themes in his personal work is that of mechanical devices, devices that act as a bridge between the worlds of science and magic. We see this in cards such as the Wheel of Fortune, which has a mechanical base moving the Wheel; and in the Star, where we see a mechanical base upholding a globe of the world.

I understand where you are coming from, and I know this goes against conventional tarot systems, but I find that the upright cards contain all the meanings necessary to give an accurate reading.
