About this deal

So, in celebration of the reveal of the DualSense, let’s take a look at the proud, fascinating, and sometimes strange history of PlayStation controllers: The Nintendo PlayStation Controller Hard to say the DualSense is better than the DS4 having not used it but I trust that the improvements will make it better overall. The Sixaxis would go on to replace this wild design, but the Legend of the Boomerang would live on for many more years to come.

But why did Sony show off this controller in the first place? Well, some believe that its odd shape was intended to emphasize the PlayStation 3’s motion control capabilities. That’s never been confirmed, but it would explain a lot. While it doesn’t look particularly comfortable to use in the traditional sense, you can see how its shape might actually work well for motion control purposes. Yet, there may be a few members of the PlayStation controller family that you’re not familiar with. More importantly, there may be things about the making of your favorite PlayStation controller that you never knew before. Let's begin at the beginning. The original PlayStation released in North America at the end of 1995, a time when gamers were accustomed to the SNES and the SEGA Genesis. Both machines had decent controllers, with the Super Nintendo's pad in particular a departure from the norm, sporting a D-pad, two shoulder buttons, four face buttons, and two central buttons. It's clear where Sony's initial inspiration came from, then, but it took things a step further for its very first controller.Vibration is known to cause slowdown in some games. Disabling vibration in-game (if possible) is recommended if you notice this happen, or don't have a controller with vibration ability. See Setting Core Options. And it all began with the PS1. While wireless controllers are a limited option, there are some PS1 possibilities that will be ideal for your needs. Let’s start by going over what you’ll need to keep in mind if you’re shopping for one. RetroPie supports many popular controllers out of the box. On first boot you will be prompted to configure a controller in EmulationStation. Once you finish configuring your controller, multiple configuration profiles will be automagically generated for most of the systems in RetroPie. The Sixaxis was also motion-sensitive. This meant that you could control certain elements of a game (such as balancing on a log in Uncharted, for example) simply by tilting the pad. Because of this, it didn't vibrate. Clearly, Sony hadn't learned its lesson from the Dual Analog. It did drop the Analog button, though. The DualSense also features a two-toned design, a departure from previous controllers. The light bar will also now be found on either side of the touchpad. DualSense Edge

These controllers seem to be just as capable of keeping up with you as something Sony made themselves. dankcushions do you think deleting all the controller configs in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/autoconfig might help ? Namco had already released an analog controller for PlayStation called NeGcon. Sony's Dual Analog Controller's analog mode was not compatible with the NeGcon-compatible games such as Wipeout and Ridge Racer. However, Need for Speed II, Gran Turismo, and Gran Turismo 2 feature compatibility with both NeGcon and Dual Analog control schemes. For example with the avengers game, they can make a green & purple for hulk, red & gold/yellow for iron man and so on.

I really like the DS4 but after playing and getting use the Xbox controller it's good to see the DS5 looking like it will better in the hand. Now poll how long we think the battery will last?
