About this deal

While the acting skills of the four main actors may not always reach the highest level, their charm and likability compensate for any shortcomings. The addition of four new female characters brings a breath of fresh air to the film, as each actress is well-cast and complements her male counterpart admirably. Despite this British sitcom's surprisingly far-reaching fan base (not a single seat of the four hundred in my cinema was left unoccupied) I still find myself having to explain the show to family members, casual acquaintances and my favourite movie-loving cab driver on the way home. Limited Wardrobe: Will, as he decides between half a dozen pair of identical khakis and plain shirts.

Subverted with Simon, who gets naked three times, but it's not really laugh-inducing. Lampshaded by Alison, who asks Will if Simon always gets naked when he's excited. Race for Your Love: Parodied when Simon decides to swim to shore from the boat party to declare his love for Lucy. Everyone cheers as he jumps into the water only to stop cheering as he struggles to make it to shore, has to be rescued by emergency workers, is taken to the hospital, and shits himself. Well Done, Son" Guy: Will is this, as can be seen in the opening scene. At the end, Will takes a selfie of himself with Alison and sends it to his dad, which makes his father smile.James gets this at the boat party with the €20 note Jay had kept up his arse he used to snort drugs. Poo on the end of your nose is going to send any girl running. During the skinny-dipping scene, we see all four of the girls in various states of undress, including a closeup of Will's hand on Alison's bare breast and a from-behind shot of Alison completely naked. Anyone even slightly familiar with the series would be aware of its unrelentingly crude subject matter, which some might interpret as vulgar or even offensive. That's a personal call, and while it doesn't concern my comedic sensibilities in the slightest, I must warn the more politically correct among us that this is not a movie for you. Few social taboos are left undisturbed, and when you couple this with the notion that filmmakers can get away with a lot more on the big screen (a saying that rings especially true for The Inbetweeners), it is recommended that fence-sitters have a long think about how they feel about the series, lest they return home with the unexplained compulsion to take a boiling hot bath and scrub until a little skin comes off. Status Quo Is God: Simon didn't have to move to Wales after all. It's not explained how or why, though. Basically, it's about four lads who leave school and go on a drunken holiday to the a Greek island (I forget which one). There, they get into all manner of embarrassing scrapes. As it says on the sleeve - think American Pie meets Peep Show. There are plenty of cringe-worthingly bad moments for the stars and expect a fair amount of bad language, nudity and plenty of laughs. Basically, it's like everything that a Richard Curtis movie isn't!

Good-Times Montage: After Simon and Jay make up, we get a rare montage of the four actually having a fun time dancing and drinking with each other. After awhile, I loved watching them and their interactions with the females, who were also entertaining. Enough so, I would like to get the series this was based on and then rewatch this supposedly movie made to close out the TV program. Football Hooligans: A group of them annoy Will throughout the bus ride from the airport to the hostel they're staying at by singing incessantly. National Stereotypes: Will jokingly references the Greek waiter boyfriend stereotype when talking to Alison. Turns out he's correct about almost every part of it (the name being the only exception). Neil: And if they don't kill you, you kill yourself over the shame of getting a boner while being bummed. Also an example of Hand Wave - Simon just says "not moving to Wales" in the opening minutes to brush it off.

The "Pussay Patrol" shirts are derived from a line Jay delivers in the episode "Will's Home Alone". Big Beautiful Woman: Zigzagged with Jane. Jay initially sees her as an Abhorrent Admirer, but apparently more because he's worried about what his friends would think. He comes around in the end.Plot Overview: When Simon(Joe Thomas)'s girlfriend dumps him, he and his friends go on a lads holiday to Malia, encountering drugs, alcohol and women along the way. The Inbetweeners is a 2011 movie adaptation and continuation of the popular series The Inbetweeners.

Blake Harrison was great as Neil Sutherland and is everyone's favourite slow, perverted 18 year old. All the characters were hilarious and amazing and brilliant. Other than Blake, other leading actors' acting was pretty mediocre. The villain-esc character was very weak. Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Simon prepares to swim from a yacht to shore as a big romantic gesture, to massive, raging cheers and applause from all on board. Minutes later, the whole boat is silent as Simon begins to drown, and winds up being airlifted to hospital by the coast-guard. We haven't seen the original TV series to know what the humour is like, but judging from this movie, we can tell you that this is one teen comedy that will leave you in stitches. While it the shyer viewer (probably of the female species) may be slightly embarrassed by some of the scenes (warning: expect to see, err, genitalia), the movie never becomes distasteful and offensive. While some may consider it on the brinks of becoming obnoxious, the crude humour remains truly funny throughout. Maybe it's the British accent, or maybe it's the socially awkward boys who you cannot bear to hate – this is a comedy that you will enjoy. The film is funny. No doubt about, I had several laughs from it. Much of the humor is sexual in some shape or form. There is a lot of young male testosterone which results in various conflicts. Not being familiar with the series, this was a run of the mill spring break comedy. If you are like me and you love the inbetweeners television show, then the movie will have been much anticipated. I am pleased to report that the movie is not a disappointment. Will, Simon, Jay and Neil are all together as the group head out to Malia for a lads holiday after leaving school. It is meant to be the holiday of a life time, but in classic inbetweeners style not everything goes to plan. Jay offering Will his bed when the latter is drunk. Will had been about to go to sleep on the very ants' nest Jay had slept on the previous night. Crappy Holidays: It seems this trope will be played straight due to the typical misfortunes that befall the main characters, but it's ultimately subverted.
