The questioneer series is a lovely set of books, each book telling the story of one child who questions, thinks and acts! There are five characters in the series as of now, each book dedicated to that one character. The Rosie Revere Engineer story, written by Andrea Beaty is a lovely book all about perseverance, the moral of the story is to never give up, and change the mindset of ‘I can’t’ or ‘This won’t work!’ to a more positive ‘I can’ or ‘Let's try!’ attitude. Rosie dreams of becoming a great engineer when she grows up. She loves to invent gizmos and gadgets, including a hot dog machine and helium pants. She creates a snake-repelling hat for her Uncle Fred. Calling all engineers! More than a dozen Rosie Revere, Engineer activities help kids build confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Students will analyze characters and story elements, as well as interpret quotes from the story, and develop a new engineering feat! The activities included will allow students to: Rosie Revere is quiet by day but at night she is dreaming about creative inventions. When she gets a visit from her Aunt Rose, she is inspired to invent a contraption to fly. Will she be successful? Rosie Revere loves to build things and learns it is okay if her creations don’t work the first time. The book gives you the opportunity to promote: The main character Rosie is a creative and ambitious little engineer. She loves building machines from old gears, wires, and broken motors, and she gives her models hilarious names (Foolhardyflop, Creative Catastrophe, Magnificent Mess, etc.). Her inventions often fail, but Rosie never gives up. Her perseverance is really admirable.

Where some people see rubbish, Rosie Revere sees inspiration. Alone in her room at night, shy Rosie constructs great inventions from odds and ends. Hot dog dispensers, helium pants, python-repelling cheese hats. Rosie’s gizmos would astound—if she ever let anyone see them. I thought I would love this feminist children's book about a little girl engineer, but I had some problems. I had a lot of fun reading “Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters”, the first chapter book in a new series, “The Questioneers”, by Andrea Beaty. Andrea Beaty is the author of many beloved children’s books, including the bestselling Questioneers series, I Love You Like Yellow, Happy Birthday, Madame Chapeau, and One Girl. She lives just outside Chicago.I like the Questioneers series because I like science and engineering as well as art and the books feel like the combination of both subjects. I also like it because the books are like poems. The sentences rhymes. It was fun to read them.

The premise of the book is simply adorable and hilarious. Rosie Revere is precious and should be protected at any and all cost! She loves to build things trinkets, gizmos, and gadgets in secret – why in secret? Rosie was once enthusiastic about her inventions and showed it off to everyone and anyone, but one day, she built an invention for her favorite uncle, but he laughed at her and she curbed her passion in and only does it in secret. It wasn't until her great-great-aunt Rose (Rosie the Riveter) visits her and teaches her that the only failure is the failure to continue – to quit. Young boys and girls will love their time spent with Rosie Revere. They’ll be captivated by the story and colorful illustrations, and also learn about the passion and practicality of science (STEM). Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters is the first in a unique and exciting series of chapter books for children, parents, and teachers who want to make STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fun. a lyrical and inspiring tale of a little girl and her friends who learn to keep on creating and to find the progress & learnings out of failures

These books are fun without being preachy and yet teach the kids something important. Do give these books a try. Andrea Beaty is the author of a series of books about curious classmates; Architect Iggy, Scientist Ada and Engineer Rosie. Illustrated by the Scottish illustrator, David Roberts, the books tell the stories of hopelessly curious children who overcome hurdles to pursue their passions. They have an emergency that they need Rosie’s help with. One of the riveters, June, is a painter and always participates in the Art-a-Go-Go. This year, though, she has both of her wrists in casts. How can she paint like that? It’s up to Rosie to build a solution.
