About this deal

I shoot with my Sony 10-18mm most of the time for ease of use with autofocus and auto aperture. When I look at my EXIF data, I’m almost always in the 10-14mm range. If I want to get closer to an object, I tend to do so with my feet since I’m so used to shooting with primes. This isn’t always possible when in the mountains, so I occasionally shoot at 18mm. The problem is that 18mm is still very wide and not ideal for getting close to things that are far away. panther fan LOL 🤗 Are you trying to tell that Fujifilm X-Trans sensor is the one designed by and used in Sony cameras? If not then it's a completely different sensor than Sony uses in its cameras. It’s a mostly plastic design with a metal mount. It comes with a nice compact case that will certainly keep it protected as well.

At small apertures, depth of field is huge but the edge is taken off fine detail by diffraction. The Rokinon 12mm comes with a lens hood that I don’t use due to the constraints of my hiking camera bag. You can see what the flares look like in the image below. Image credit: Andy Westlake I frequently used the 1018 stopped down and at low shutter speeds to compensate. I now own an A6600 so that is not that relevant anymore. But I also mostly use the 1018 at 10mm and it is often just wide enough. Typically I don’t even consider buying manual focus lenses anymore. There are so many good options that come with autofocus at very affordable prices that it’s not worth sacrificing the utility of autofocus.
