I can’t think of another book I’ve read with that structure, it felt fresh. As a person approaches death, they become less active. This means their body needs less energy than it did. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish this book - it’s clear the author has medical knowledge, which is great, but the book felt a little too technical at times. It felt very slow and I wanted to get to at least 30%, but honestly I’ve been trying to read this for about three days now and haven’t been able to make much progress.

And this book completely & totally nailed it! Think the 90's show, ER, but with a suspenseful thriller twist in a book. I cannot believe how I sailed through this divinely yummy medical conundrum! Spine-tingling with an injection of fear. The witty writing, quirky protagonist, and anecdotal descriptions of real-life medical villains combine to make Sometimes People Die a delightful read.
