About this deal

The last chapter was amazing, and definitely exceeded my expectations to what I thought was going to happen.

A riveting psychological thriller that takes the familiar story of an ex-wife and infuses it with unexpected twists, suspense, and a cast of characters with dark secrets, making it an unputdownable read. A recently divorced wife is accused of murdering her young, pretty and seemingly perfect replacement. Things are complicated and the story weaves between the past and present with really unexpected and surprising twists along the way and the biggest and most surprising twist at the very end. This Book grips you from the first paragraph. I was unable to put it down! A definite "Who done it?" Full of twists and turns and I have not read a book that kept me intrigued like this one did in a very long time. Sally Rigby has fully developed characters that are believable. With all the faults and life experiences that make us all so different. Lost in thought, Alice Hargraves, 45, watched as the young police officer opened the cell door for her to go to court for a murder she did not commit. The story is set in two different timescales, it’s a double narrative so we get two sides of the story, one from Natasha and one from Jen.Ursula Parrott’s Ex-Wife . . . gives us an idea of what it would be like to walk into [a] museum and or gallery and see a portrait of how we might have looked [then]: all of us dressed in stylish flapper clothes, swilling bootleg gin, chattering and flirting.” If you enjoy your Pyschological Thrillers to keep you guessing and have delicious twists then you will want to read The Ex Wife! This book is written in third person perspective with the main protagonists being Alice Hargraves, Cassie Hargreaves, Norah Richmond and DI Belinda Day. The benefits of third person perspective with multiple protagonists are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything. And then there's Cassie and to be honest I spent very little time on her chapters because I was not interested in following around the typical silly teen girl who so easily is pulled into trouble by those older, smoldering, lying, cheating teen boys. *sigh* This novel consists of 27 chapters. The chapters are short to medium in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

Wow wow wow this book was simply brilliant! Jess Ryder Took me on one crazy ride.... this is my first book from this author, but it is definitely not my last! Admittedly up until about 35% I was a little unsure as to what was going on and then... BAM! huge swerve and then the twists kept coming! At the halfway point, the story takes a turn and is then told primarily from the detectives POV as they investigate Norah's brutal murder. They think they have the suspect in their crosshairs when they are thrown a curveball and all bets are off. Everything points to Alice. The weapon, the motive, even the opportunity. Alice had a secret to protect at all costs. But is she really guilty? I enjoy the odd Psychological Thiller as you tend to know what you are getting, so yeah you may have to suspend disbelief at some of story but I expect that with Psychological thrillers (to an extent) and this book works really well as the plot and the characters are clever and I enjoyed the suspense. This book will have you in a finger-pointing frenzy, accusing pretty much anyone and everyone. Who’s telling the truth? Who’s lying? Is anyone innocent in all of this? I can’t tell you how many times I changed my mind on who to trust. (Love that!) The Ex-Wife is the third book in this exciting new and combined venture between Sally Rigby and Amanda Ashby.
