About this deal

Location: Grand Exhibition - A short cutscene will play after you defeat a boss named Champion Victor. Simon Manus, along with his devout zealot, Laxasia, will appear. So, The Lies You Told may not win any prizes for originality ,I greatly enjoyed the book and happily raced through it on my day off.

This book basically has two plots, first is Sadie and what’s going on with her and a robin and second is a case that Sadie is working on, I love a bit of courtroom drama so I loved this! When we are in love, we are convinced nobody else will do. But as time goes, others do do, and often do do, much much better. -Coco J. Ginger “ Tabitha Hardy is in prison for murder, as House of Correction opens. But she’s convinced it won’t be for long: “I still feel like I’m in the middle of a car crash and the crash is going on and on and on. But soon they’ll realise that all of this is crazy and let me go.” The problem is that Tabitha can’t remember the details of what happened on the day Stuart Rees’s corpse was found in the shed outside her house; she suffers from severe depression and “she couldn’t remember that day, or only a few snatches. It had been a day of wild weather and of a crouching fear. The kind of day she had to crawl blindly through, just to get to the end.”I read almost all the stories published by the author in the past and always looking forward to seeing where she will take us next with her novels. In chambers, she’s given the junior brief on a scandalous, high-profile case. It’s an opportunity to prove herself again, but will she let a dangerous flirtation cloud her professional judgement? One obstacle is what you already know. Even if a lie sounds plausible, why would you set what you know aside just because you heard the lie repeatedly? I had no idea who I should trust in this book. The clique of mothers at the school was just horrible and I couldn't understand why they were so unwelcoming towards both Sadie and Robin. The competitive attitude was rather extreme and there were questions about what kinds of things had happened to other students. I wanted to know what was going on with the case Sadie was working on and what was causing her marriage to fall apart. I would recommend this book to others. I thought that this was a very well-crafted thriller that had plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. I would definitely read more of this author's work in the future.

Location: Hotel Krat and Barren Swamp - Talk to Eugenie just before heading to the Barren Swamp and she’ll give you the Four-finger Glove that she made for Alidoro. Upon reaching the Barren Swamp, you’ll circle around the initial area and eventually meet up with Alidoro once more. Upon giving him the gloves, he’ll scoff at their poor quality. This is one very interesting Suspense tale. The heroine is one really messed up woman who is functional but has soooo many issues. The hero, if you could say this plot has a hero, likes what he sees but delving deeper may not be in his best interest. Actually, as much as I wanted a hero, there really wasn't one. This story was all about one woman's road to getting justice for her murdered twin and overcoming her awful family. If you love someone, tell them… because hearts are often broken by words left unspoken. -Pamela Daranjo “ THE LIES I TOLD, a thriller about the dark secrets that emerge 14 years after a woman's identical twin sister is murdered— with Burton's signature style: intense, gripping, taut, disturbing, moving, and brilliant prose. In my opinion, this one is less cop procedural, forensics, and more of a deeper dive into the mind of a killer, his friends, family, and all those connected. Character-driven with highly flawed and dysfunctional family members with mental health, addictions, etc.

The second half of the book seemed to me much faster than the first. But maybe it's because I was already heavily involved in the story. There are a few POVs here aside from Marisa's main narrative. In general, I don't like too many POVs, and I don't think all of them were necessary in this case either. Especially since we only heard from some people once or twice. But it was not a big problem. It took me forever to get through and I almost DNF it a few times. It dragged at parts and I’m honestly surprised I finished it. The main character was irritating and by the end I didn’t care if she solved the mystery or not.

True psychological mystery suspense (whodunit) murder thriller. A cross between gritty and dark (Karin Slaughter/Lisa Unger) and domestic suspense/family dramas with highly-charged topics (D. J, Palmer/Jodi Picoult/Mary Kubica) and the Burton signature style. Everyone is lying and keeping secrets. The town seems to want to let sleeping dogs lie, and Marisa is the only one who wants to solve the murder except for Detective Richards, who was on the case fourteen years ago and now. He is close to retirement (two weeks) and under much pressure to solve the case. Marisa knows they must find the murderer before he moves to Florida. What is broken is broken – and I’d rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken places as long as I lived. -Margaret Mitchell “ A few of the characters were well-sketched. I liked Marisa’s portrayal the best, though it too had minor flaws. I was initially worried that she would be yet another unreliable narrator with an alcohol addiction but her character was handled fairly well by the author. Detective Richards was also quite impactful in his limited role. Nothing better than listening to a lie when you already know the truth.” — Unknown 15. You already know. The issues explored in this book are important ones, and ones that require real special attention to them. I don’t think writing a psychological thriller in this manner is a way to do it. These are two separate issues that require one book dedicated to each....not an actual information overload of two things that have no correlation to each other, other than Sadie being the common factor here.

The deadly logical+pessimist combo in me refuses to accept that nothing came to light for fourteen years and suddenly everything is out in the open within a few weeks. And as usual, it is the amateur family member who discovers stuff that the official investigators didn’t. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this title. There are sufficient parts that were done great and hold my attention and intrigued me to the point of wanting to know how this ends. But there are also many disjointed scenes where I felt lost and did not know what's happening or where is this going. When you go through a loss, a disappointment or a bad break up, don’t expect to come out the same. Expect to come out better off than you were before. -Joel Osteen “ It’s fair to say Sadie and Robin are greeted by some animosity from the other mums and they both find it hard to fit into this tight knit group, who aren’t particularly welcoming to outsiders…Marisa's twin Clare was murdered at the age of sixteen. Fourteen years have passed and no killer has been found. Marisa has turned thirty and is recovering after a car accident that left her with a blank hole in her memories about a few days prior and after. Marisa has been sober for a year, but her sister insists that she was intoxicated when the accident happened. The detective that has been in charge of her sister's case is also set to retire, which means Marisa is slowly running out of time to uncover the truth behind her sister's death as she also tries to paste together what happened the night of her accident. After a break – of minutes or even weeks – the participants do the procedure again, but this time some of the items they rate are new, and some they saw before in the first phase. The key finding is that people tend to rate items they've seen before as more likely to be true, regardless of whether they are true or not, and seemingly for the sole reason that they are more familiar. Some people are meant to fall in love with each other, but not meant to be together. -500 Days of Summer “ Having had my fair share of school gate experiences with cliques of mothers, I could genuinely relate to how Sadie felt, when she found herself in the covert competitive parenting trap. Albeit more so in independent schools, social comparisons causes much envy and anxiety and the desire to have the top pupil in the class leads to many a fall out among adults. “The Lies You Told” showed women at their worst and this produced some very satirical antics that you had to laugh at but unfortunately it’s also disturbing to know that it actually occurs in real life. Their love] had burned itself out, like a forgotten candle in an empty room, leaving behind a ravenous discontent. -Paolo Giordano “
