About this deal

youtube link for how to change (debrand??) the firmware on the B618 (SIX 18), so I'm guessing the B818 will be similar, but apparently firmwares are very hard to find for the B818. I won't be trying, not at the moment anyway. Upload video does not exceed 10M, supported formats are mp4, avi, wmv, mpeg, mov, mkv, flv, f4v, rmvb, rm, 3gp, dat, ts, mts, VOB The power consumption is according to Huawei at a maximum of 24 watts. A battery is not integrated in the Huawei B818 LTE router. A Wi-Fi channel is like a lane on the road- the less cars in your lane, the closer to the speed limit you can go. My only minor issue is that I still have to fix band 3 using LTE H-Monitor. Left to its own devices, the router will sometimes switch to band 20 with a massive loss in performance, and nothing but a reboot will make it return to band 3.

Huawei B818-263, CAT19 4G/ LTE, 1.6 Gbps Mobile Wi-Fi Router

The Huawei B818-260 supports all the popular LTE frequency bands in Europe and Asia: Band 1, 3, 7, 8, 20, 28, 32, 38 and 42. For those who prefer to have it in MHz: 700, 800, 900, 1500, 1800, 2100 and 2600 MHz are supported for FDD-LTE, 2600 and 3500 MHz for TDD-LTE. The Huawei B818 is thus very well prepared for the future! Experienceslow browsing speedswhen using Wi-Fi but normal speeds when connected using an Ethernet cableI wonder how different a vanilla Huawei device would be when compared with the Optus branded version? Equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet ports, the Huawei B818-263 offers wired connections for devices requiring a stable and uninterrupted connection, such as gaming consoles or smart TVs. It also has two RJ11 telephone ports, allowing for Voice over IP (VoIP) calls.

looks like you also either need to have antenna on wide bands, or antennas that do one band, and other antennas that do other bands. The Huawei B818-263 features dual-band Wi-Fi technology, enabling simultaneous connections on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. This enhances network stability and reduces interference for a more reliable and consistent wireless connection. Additionally, the router supports Wi-Fi 6, providing faster and more efficient wireless communication. Bridge mode seems to be working, updated the VPN on my phone with the new IP and I can now VPN from my phone to my home Network. After yesterdays IP change I was able to setup up a ping monitor, you can see my automated speed tests. Swapping the antennas causes poor LTE signal parameters of 800MHz. (short antennas are for high bands)

If it does not come out to the main band what you want try a few times and it should be 5G + LTE CA. Short LTE antennas can be unplugged and can be connected to the network (but then we will not get MIMO 4x4)Thanks very much in advance to you or anyone on the forum who is able to explain in simple terms what I need to do. The Huawei B818 comes with built-in cellular antennas in the device. These offer a very good reception in the LTE network, especially in comparison with many smartphones. Even with poor reception, fast speeds are still achievable. For example, in the test, a stable connection could still be established in a basement room, even though the smartphones in the room already showed no reception.
