About this deal

There’s still a lot of wiggle room for points there but this is a well rounded list. Still, I think it could use some more tweaks as it does a little bit of everything but maybe not enough of anything in particular to be “meta”— but I leave those lists for Goatboy. For me, this looks like a pretty fun list to play and play against. So…mission accomplished! Although the Alpha Legion prefers subtlety, they occasionally take to the field in the full panoply of their Legion. Upgrade your Cataphractii Terminators with detailed shoulder pads, then add some flair to your line troops with MkIII Shoulder Pads and MkIV Torsos. Great online store for board games. They always arrive perfectly and undamaged which is important to me. Writer, Editor, Texas Native, and Austinite for 15+ years, Adam covers all things Tabletop Gaming. Which includes Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, D&D, Board Games and everything else that involves dice, boards, cards and a table. GW just revealed three new Arks of Omen box sets made specifically for playing boarding action games, but could also be used for regular 40k.

The Balefleets of Abaddon the Despoiler surge across the galaxy, and woebetide any who attempt to seize or destroy the Arks of Omen that serve as their flagships.

The various factions of the 41st Millennium are now forced to undertake Boarding Actions against these twisted space hulks, with small, elite forces clashing in their claustrophobic confines. It’s interesting to see the huge difference in value between the two boxes, as GW did price them differently, bevcaue one would have had a ton of value and one not so much. Is The Chaos Boarding Patrol Box Worth it? In a world of bloody Boarding Actions, it’s easy to forget the colossal battles that define the 41st Millennium are still taking place. Balefleets are the cohorts raised by Abaddon and Vashtorr, tasked with collecting the artefacts needed to complete their meticulous plan. While Angron’s hordes sweep across the galaxy, the rest of the traitor Astartes aren’t just sitting around, and the Balefleets continue their search for Abaddon’s mysterious relics. This powerful elite force comprises 10 Possessed, five Chaos Terminators, a Heldrake, and the new Daemon Prince, all fully capable of slaughtering entire units of enemy warriors. Boarding Patrol: Space Marines Regardless of what you choose at this point you’ve got a lot of boots on the ground — so how are you going to get them where they need to get? You could opt for Rhinos but with Chaos Terminators a Land Raider could be pretty effective. I’d also look at snagging a Chaos Sorcerer just for some psychic shenanigans as well.

Edit - just read the blurb at the end. Not that more models is a bad thing. Guess they just really wanted to call it a Boarding Patrol as a promotional tie-in. These are the first new box sets for Arks of Omen, and we’re excited to look at the kind of value they have inside. Two of the sets are made for actual boarding actions, while the other box is just more of a normal battleforce for Chaos with plenty (including the new Daemon Prince and older Heldrake model) that you won’t be able to use in boarding actions. New Arks of Omen Box Sets Revealed By GW This has a lot of value compared with the Space Marines box. However, you get the majority of it in Cultists and Abaddon, so if you don’t want either, then this is not worth it. This is a great value for those who need both cultists and Abaddon.Meanwhile, here at Warhammer Community we’ll have more from Codex: World Eaters , the next video in our 40 Years of Warhammer series, and plenty more. We’ll start with the two Arks of Omen boxes made for Boarding Actions (called a Boarding Patrol), then get into the value and savings for the bigger Baleforce battleforce. Arks of Omen 40k Boarding Patrol Box Sets: Savings & Value Breakdown

That said, I wouldn’t mind taking him for some sort of narrative or special Boarding Action game. Maybe as a “final boss” sort of fight where you play on a double sized map with 1000 points per side? Just tossing that out there… A heady mix of daemonic power and debased Astartes ceramite, this Battleforce is the ideal way to throw in your lot with the Warmaster and start scouring the galaxy for the keys to victory. The various factions of the 41st Millennium are now forced to undertake Boarding Actions against these twisted space hulks, with small, elite forces clashing in their claustrophobic confines.Balefleets are the term given to the various fleets used by Chaos forces in the Arks of Omen Campaign. [1] If you want to muster a fresh army to take advantage of the Arks of Omen Detachment, there are also four new Adeptus Astartes Battleforces* that’ll give you a great starting point – or help you expand on your army with loads of models and Chapter-themed upgrades. Each Balefleet is fully self-sufficient and self-contained, allowing them to act independently of the other. When set against the interdependent formations of the Indomitus Crusade and their need to act as a component of a greater strategic whole, Abaddon had succeeded in translating the individualistic and anarchic nature of his followers into an advantage. Not only could they act without having to maintain strategic coherency with other fleets, but they were also expendable to The Despoiler. [2] Sources
