About this deal

When unboxing the Bosch Advanced Rotak 650, there’s an immediate warning on one of the inside flaps that advise you to lift from the handle, not the sides. This is because the sides of the lawnmowers contain sharp grass combs. This is a useful warning to have in such an obvious place. Metal blades are generally sharper and provide a cleaner cut to the grass blade, resulting in a neater, tidier and superior finish to your lawn and garden. As stated above, the metal blades can be sharpened when needed unlike plastic blades.

What I like about this mower is the seven different cutting heights and the easy way you adjust the height from the central handle. This really does make a difference as many competitors have a single lever mounted at the front of the mower which you have to fight with to adjust the height. The other nice touch is the huge 50 Litre grass box that folds flat and has a “grass box full” display, well done Bosch. The Bosch AdvancedRotak 750 model also has grass combs for great edges and corners as well as LeafCollect to gather leaves as you work on the lawn. The Advanced Rotak 650 is one of Bosch’s more powerful corded lawnmowers. Designed with the user in mind, its features have clearly been designed to make life easier. Positioned at the higher end of the price scale, the Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 is equipped with a 1700W engine, 7 cutting heights, and a built-in LeafCollect blade. This rounds up and shreds leaves on medium to large domestic lawns.

Because the grass collection box folds flat there are two fold-able arms near the box opening, when emptying the cuttings these slightly obstructs and restricts the flow of the cuttings when emptying. Also, because the Bosch 750 does such a good job of compacting the cuttings a good shake of the collection box is needed to eject all the cuttings. As a seasoned expert in the field of garden power tools, I have dedicated over a decade to working with and reviewing a wide variety of lawn mowers. My extensive experience has allowed me to gain a deep understanding of the benefits and limitations of different types of mowers and garden tools. Comfortable mowing: Healthy working posture for every body size due to height adjustable ErgoSlide handles The key difference between this more expensive model and the basic models, is that this one is designed for anyone who wants an easier mower to use. The wider cutting width, the ergonomic design and the leaf collecting blade and grass basket are all designed to make mowing easier and faster. The best months for lawn mowing are March to October. Mowing should be done once or twice a week depending on how fast the grass grows. The best time of day to mow the grass is at the end of the afternoon and never in full sunlight. This is to prevent the grass from drying out after being cut.If you take a look at my video on the link below, at around 3.28 min you will see the height adjustment in operation. If you have left your lawn to grow for a while, don’t rush in and cut it on a very low setting. Rather start on a higher setting and progressively cut it lower. This will avoid leaving an untidy patchy appearance or even scalping parts of your lawn.

You’ll love the super sharp Leafcollect blade which gives a uniformed neat finish and also effortlessly collects, shreds and distributes leaves from your lawn into the collection bag for easy disposal. This makes the Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 extremely useful in any season. And those tiresome leaves that fall all over your lawn in the Autumn won’t be a problem any more! The lawnmower comes with a detailed and clear safety guide and provided you follow these instructions you will not have any problems. It is essential that your lawn mower is highly adjustable to accommodate different lawn types as well as to accommodate for the different seasons. The Bosch AdvancedRotak 750 gives you a choice of 7 settings ranging from 25mm to 80mm on the front and rear wheels. Wow! 7 height adjustments! This really is impressive as some mowers I have tested only have 3, so no matter what type of lawn you have or what your seasonal requirements are, this mower will be perfectly adjustable for your needs. Another feature Bosch products are well known for is a great safety record. Obviously, if not used correctly, any lawnmower can be dangerous but Bosch has done everything they can to make the AdvancedRotak 750 as safe as possible without reducing its effectiveness. The lawn mower blade also has a handy LeafCollect design. This unique design makes it easier to gather up leaves from the lawn and slice them up alongside the grass. You won’t need to rake or use a leaf blower– just let the AdvancedRotak 650 deal with the leaves!Overall, it’s clear to see why the Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 has a higher price point. The long list of features is impressive and they stood up well to my various tests. However, the biggest selling point has to be its simplicity. It’s one of the easiest lawnmowers I’ve ever assembled and used. The ground steel blade measures 41cm, so the AdvancedRotak 650 has a larger cutting width than most others, being recommended for lawns up to 650smq! Even though I referred to the instructions throughout the assembly, everything was simple and self-explanatory. As long as you’re being safe, you shouldn’t need to rely on the manual to put this mower together. The Bosch AdvancedRotak 750 has a powerful 1700W motor and has a 45 cm width using a hardened steel blade designed for medium to large sized lawns. The smooth sound profile of the Bosch ProSilence prevents your lawnmower from disturbing your neighbours by reducing its noise level by up to 75% to 89 dB.
