About this deal

Measurements that you are about to see were performed using the Klippel Near-field Scanner (NFS). This is a robotic measurement system that analyzes the speaker all around and is able (using advanced mathematics and dual scan) to subtract room reflections (so where I measure it doesn't matter). It also measures the speaker at close distance ("near-field") which sharply reduces the impact of room noise. Both of these factors enable testing in ordinary rooms yet results that can be more accurate than an anechoic chamber. In a nutshell, the measurements show the actual sound coming out of the speaker independent of the room. Keep in mind that there's no real difference when placing them on the floor or an elevated surface. However, your listening experience will be different if you put them against a wall or place them in the center of a room. It is an affordable set of speakers that not only save your money but also takes less space. With a size smaller than a shoebox, you can fit these speakers anywhere in your home.

The MDF not only provides aesthetic quality but also adds strength to the entire product. The final touch to the wood MDF surface has been given by wood effect vinyl. This also gives a shiny or polished look to the wooden surface. Pros and Cons Pros The first visible difference between the two options lies in the name. Actually the main difference between Edifier R1280T and R1280TS is of sound quality and connectivity. Let’s find out what else makes the speakers different and which one is the better option;

Got even more confused? Allow me to introduce you to Edifier R1280T and Edifier R1280Ts and compare them to find out the difference. FYI here is a review of a similar model, different tweeter but you get the idea that perhaps Edifier makes some decent stuff in their line.

R1280t has RCA inputs only, while the R1280db has RCA inputs, optical input, coax input, and Bluetooth. The woofer seems to be resonating around 5 kHz and the tweeter has peaking near 10 kHz. Hopefully we can correct these with EQ. These speakers sound fantastic when listening to indie or jazz music. For acoustic music, the mid-range is ideal. They also have a smooth and balanced midrange, which is very good for the clarity of the vocals. Meanwhile, the MDF wood enclosure is made so that it helps curb distortions of any sort. The volume knob also has an LED indicator at its bottom, so it's easier to spot. Of course, with an optical audio port and a coaxial input joining the T models’ dual RCA inputs, you can physically connect these bookshelf speakers to four different devices and appliances at the same time. That not only makes it a perfect addition to a modest entertainment center where there might be a PlayStation or Xbox, a vinyl player, and another media player on top of the TV, but it also makes your entertainment experience a lot more seamless.Perfect for listening to music. I had a Sony MHC VO2 speaker and on that I only played music at very low volumes as at higher volumes the speaker would sound very harsh. The edifier on the other hand has very balanced and soft sound and is thoroughly enjoyable at higher volumes too. They will be repaired using new or refurbished parts after being thoroughly inspected for flaws. Repairs will be exchanged for refurbished speakers if they cannot be repaired, as assessed by Edifier North America or its approved service partner. The 2.0 speaker system fitted in them will give out a sound that will never compromise no matter what kind of room you place it into. The bass of the speaker is quite powerful for their size of speakers. The bass drive in this speaker device is 4 inches in size. Remote sensing control

This is a problem because it means that Spinorama alone, unfortunately, won't give us all we need. Placement and reflections play an equally important role there too. The speakers have been designed to provide convenience to the users to the maximum. If you bring this product home, you will not have to get up and use the control. You can easily lie down and relax on your couch or bed while you use the speakers.It's important to note that all four speakers boast the same design save for the output and connectivity options, remote control functionalities, and the external subwoofers on the R1280Ts and R1280DBs. The Edifier R1280T and R1280DB are very chic and good-looking bookshelf speakers. Each speaker has a matte top panel with grills made of removable gray cloth material. They feature wooden housing on both sides of the speaker. If the Edifier R1280DBs’ elegant design, easy setup, multiple input options, and sub output aren’t enough to convince you, its solid performance will. Bass is the strongest point of these speakers, it fills the room. The speaker doesn't distort even when the bass is set to max. MORE BASS: The R1280Ts features a subwoofer output port for connecting to an external subwoofer (sold separately)
