About this deal

Following concerns raised by campaigners and Parliamentarians about behaviour known as "Revenge Pornography", the Government created a new criminal offence to ensure that this behaviour is fully captured by the criminal law. Revenge pornography is a broad term usually involving an individual, often an adult ex-partner, uploading onto the internet intimate sexual images of the victim, to cause the victim humiliation or embarrassment. The Offence The Code for Crown Prosecutors is a public document, issued by the Director of Public Prosecutions that sets out the general principles Crown Prosecutors should follow when they make decisions on cases.

Revenge Pornography - Guidelines on prosecuting the offence Revenge Pornography - Guidelines on prosecuting the offence

A person will only be guilty of the offence if the reason for disclosing the photograph, or one of reasons, is to cause distress to a person depicted in the photograph or film. On the same basis, anyone who re-tweets or forwards without consent, a private sexual photograph or film would only be committing an offence if the purpose, or one of the purposes was to cause distress to the individual depicted in the photograph or film who had not consented to the disclosure. For example, anyone who sends the message only because he or she thought it was funny would not be committing the offence. Defences

10) Your ex has turned your family and friends against you

Whilst it would not usually be in the public interest to prosecute the consensual sharing of an image between two children of a similar age in a relationship, a prosecution may be appropriate in other scenarios. In addition to the offences outlined above, consideration may be given to the offence of Causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity under section 8 (child under 13) or section 10 (child) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 (SOA). Definitions of the meaning of "disclose" and "photograph or film" are set out in section 34 and the definitions of "private" and "sexual" are set out at section 35 of the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015. One example could be commercial pornography. Accordingly, it would not be an offence, whatever the motive of the person in publishing the photograph or film, unless the person has some reason to believe that the person in the image had not consented when the material was published for reward. You can do this legally if you have a tangible fact that will stand as an impediment to their wedding. For instance, if you had a child with them. But you should know that the law does not force people to marry each other. Rather, there will be a remedy for you at last. It can be in form of compensation, etc. verifyErrors }}{{ message }}{{ /verifyErrors }}{{

The new offence, including defences, is at section 33 of the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015. The offence is triable either way and punishable with a maximum sentence of 2 years' imprisonment. Section 33(2): It is not an offence to disclose the photograph or film to the individual who appears in the photograph or film (mentioned in Section 33(1) (a) and (b)). The College of Policing has produced a briefing note on Police action in response to youth produced sexual imagery. Public Interest FactorsThis is the worst revenge you can ever get on your ex; showing up on their wedding day. You are not going there to celebrate with them. You are going there to cancel the marriage if you have enough reason. Isn’t that against the law? The best revenge is living well. Make your ex miss you by looking your very best to show how amazing you are. You can actualize this by posting a picture of your new look or what you have achieved so far, since the breakup. Celebrate your achievement and tag some friends except your ex. This will make them curious to know how you’ve been since the breakup and will eventually feel sorry for hurting you. 5. Blast them with an anonymous message Everyone has a breaking point, and this is illustrated in this story in more ways than one. When this story begins, Imogen, Naomi and Ruby are desperately trying to hide their feelings at the funeral of Phillip Rochester. The truth of the matter is that they are all immensely satisfied that he is dead. Two were ex-wives and one was his current girlfriend. What Phillip was to these three women was hardly endearing. Phillip was an abusive, controlling man who made their lives a living hell.
