About this deal

Ours isn't unreliable just slow. We keep it because we are told it will go to a higher pressure if it's windy so the poles will be more stable . . . I run my pump from the 12v power outlet inside the caravan WITHOUT the car being hitched up, let alone with the engine running. Interests: Camping / caravanning & Trailer tenting. Mountain biking, trikes, jetski, vintage Tamiya RC buggies Simply plug the Dometic Gale into a 12v cigar lighter or similar power source using the extra long cable, set the PSI required and let the pump do it's job. The screw adapter for the inflation point is genius & inflates my Ace Air 400 in 5 mins max, would highly recommend

Perhaps I misunderstood your post, but my Gale connecting tube screws on at the pump and simply pushes in at the tent end. ??? Am reasonable fit for a fat 60 year old but am lazy ? so Kampa Gale electric pump for me, plugged into 12v inside van to inflate our vango awning. We had used pump before but this had taken an age to blow our Kampa Air Tent. I used this on my own for the first time and within moments the beams were starting to stand and in under 8mins this tent was up and solid. best pump ever

Used the gale pump today, it isn't quite but not overly loud. It was running for a 2 or 3 minutes and nothing seemed to be happening. The only indication that air was going in was the psi meter was going up. A few minutes latter and the awning was erect. I think the fact that Kampa discontinued the Breeze and replaced it with a totally different one tells you they accepted the poor performance of the Breeze. I would very much doubt they would have replaced it with the Gale until they were satisfied the Gale was a much better piece of kit. Maybe I will start with a manual pump and see how I get on.(Or even get the other half to do it..lol) We have the Vango Varkala and I can inflate it in less time than it would take me to get an electric pump out of the boot and plug the thing in. For me they are in the same category as electric leg winders and screw in pegs.

It's less effort than the handpump, but not as fast. It does get it to a higher pressure than I can normally do manually and, having an auto cutout guage fitted, is better in that respect.Obviously, only of use if you can get at the caravan battery easily, which I could. A true 5 minute job! Anyone waiting for the new Kampa Gale air pump, they are finally in the shops. Apparently the delay was due to being held up by the customs. I've just had the call from my dealer to go and collect mine. The Dometic gale 12v electric pump is designed specifically for use with Kampa AIR awnings and tents and is a perfect match as it includes a screw on adaptor designed exclusively for Kampa tents and awnings, replacing the manual pump that comes as standard with all kampa models. Thanks. Which attachment fitted the Ventura? Tried them all on ours, but maybe doing it wrong? We have previous on doing stuff wrong. I have one of these and it sits in the bag with the cables, so no faffing about with cables etc. It does circa 4 inflations before it needs charging again and works a treat. Also useful on holiday for pumping up kids inflatables rather than busting your lungs on those! Had mine 2yrs now and works a treat
