About this deal

It was at the beginning of 2019 when blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus revealed that the band’s forthcoming record could see the California pop-punk kings taking a step into uncharted territories. As such, it’s been harder than usual to gather together the 50 best albums of 2021. Not just because of the sheer number, but because of how many of them were so fundamentally good.

Dani Collette-Bruce: "amo was a change of pace, but it worked really well. I thought it was cool that they carried on exploring the more electronic parts of their sound, and got guests like Grimes on it. And getting Dani Filth involved was a genius idea. It was a risk to do something like this, but it paid off." Kerrang! staff (8 December 2022). "Nova Twins are officially the band of the year – only in the new…". Kerrang! . Retrieved 14 May 2023. By trying to annihilate what’s gone before and truly raise themselves higher, Baroness have created a special record, with a depth that will still have you under its spell a decade from now.” Read full review.Within the first two minutes of spine-tingling opener Adderall, it’s clear that Slipknot have never sounded like this before in their 20 years as a band. Despite the album title’s somewhat ominous feeling, The End, So Far is the thrilling sound of Corey Taylor and co. continuing to push their own boundaries – and an intriguing look at what else they might pull out the bag in the future, too… (EC) This album is compiled in association with Burning Heart, B-Unique, BMG Entertainment UK, EMAP, Island Records, Jive, Mercury, Mushroom Records, Polydor, Roadrunner, Rough Trade, Sony, Universal Music, ZTT. Till Lindemann has been a busy boy, hasn’t he? In May, Rammstein finally broke their decade-long album silence, and followed it up by taking over the stadiums of Europe all summer. And with that out of the way, the second album from his Lindemann outfit raised its head. Caleb’s clever lyricism remains a constant, particularly on the rampant What’s Killing You, but The Surface’s most affecting moment comes at its climax, as closing number I Was Alive delivers a carpe diem musical affirmation that reflects the newfound self-love that has engulfed its creators. In many ways, it’s a far cry from the despair that characterised the band’s celebrated debut album Disgusting, but the emotional impact is just as, if not more, profound.

As much as the context and subject matter, what's grand here is that Muse remain masters of what they are doing. Nine records in it is inevitable that anything they do will have a particular sheen, but creatively, in performance, and in energy they continue to operate on a plane all of their own. And in a world of uncertainty, that's a very welcome thing. As soon we cut it, we said, ‘Okay, that’s going first,’” Billie Joe reveals, while also calling the single “a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people – in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.”
