Absolutely, I have to tether my tablet off my phone when they think I've been bad and due a spell of H+ It now lives in my attic connected to a Poynting XPOL directional antenna with line of sight of a 5G antenna 0.93 miles away with a few trees in the way. Averaging about 60Mb up and down, but can get 100Mb/sec on a good day. Beats the 20mb down / 1mb up that BT "fibre" could offer me (Openreach cancelled FFTP roll out on my road ). It's a 5G only antenna (the frequency response is advertised as 3.3-3.8Ghz). The biggest chunk of frequency allocation (and therefore throughput) is in band N78. This is especially true for Three who have the largest amount of spectrum in this band and lowest combined in other bands. Band N78 utilisation should also be lower as it's still relatively new in addition to reduced penetration into buildings due to the higher frequency. Other than the things detailed above, the Zyxel NR5103E and the ZTE MC801A have largely the same specs, including support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi.

Minulla on Telialta hankittu ZTE MC801A. Telian kuuluvuuskartan mukaan pitäisi olla reilusti 5G peittoa, mutta asun ilmeisesti ihan verkon rajoilla. Tukari jossa 5G antennit ilmeisesti on sijaitsee n. 500m päässä, ei ihan näköyhteyttä, metsää välissä. Aluksi laite kävi välillä 5G verkossa, mutta viime aikoina pääsääntoisesti majaillut 4G.ssä. Verkon vaihdosta aiheutuu katkoja. Hankin ulkoantennin, mutta vaikuttaa siltä ettei laite käytä lainkaan ulkoista antennia. Hallintapaneelissa ei ole mitään antennivalintoja, kuten vanhassa Huawein 4G modeemissa oli. They should have given you the new ZyXEL NR5103E 5G Router as far as I'm aware...the ZTE is the previous model used by Three, however 5G seems to be bugged for many of us running the NR5103E at the moment. Telewell on vahvistanut että siinä on Qualcomm X55. Tuskin he antavat valheellista tietoa. Avaamallahan sen saisi tarkistettua, mutta kun en itse sitä epäile, niin jätetään tekemättä 🙂
