About this deal

Many of today's business monitors come with nifty features such as a high native resolution and precise color-calibration settings. For certain kinds of work, extras like these are desirable, but they boost a monitor's price, sometimes by a bunch. The Dell 27 Monitor (P2719H) has a more modest feature set, with a price to match. It still provides a highly adjustable stand (tweakable in four dimensions), as well as a good selection of ports. We measured a maximum brightness for the “Standard” mode of 293 nits in the middle of the screen and 277 nits as an average for the whole area, with a maximum deviation of 11%. Some USB devices like external portable HDD require higher electric current; connect the device directly to the computer. Your Dell P2719H monitor has a built-in diagnostic tool that helps to determine if the screen abnormality you are experiencing is a problem with the monitor or with the video card on your computer. Resetting a monitor to factory defaults can help resolve many video or display issues. To reset your Dell P2719H monitor to factory default settings, follow these instructions:

Color accuracy out of the box is so-so, as shown on the chromaticity chart below. I tested the panel in Standard mode, and as you can see, some of my color measurements (represented by the colored dots) are well aligned with their ideal CIE coordinates (represented by the boxes), while others are a bit off. When viewing movies in Movie mode, reds and blues tended to look undersaturated. Colors in photos looked decent. Use the buttons at the bottom of the monitor to access the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu of the monitor. To access the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu, press Button 3 ( Figure 1) at the bottom of the monitor. Make sure that the video cable connecting the monitor to the computer is connected properly and is secure.

Change the color-setting mode in the Color Settings On-Screen Display Menu (OSD) to Graphics or Video, depending on the application. Like its smaller sibling, the Dell P2419H, the P2719H has a 1080p (1,920-by-1,080-pixel) native resolution. However, while 1080p is still a typical resolution for 24-inch business monitors, most 27-inch panels—including the Editors' Choice ViewSonic VP2768—have graduated to a native resolution of WQHD (2,560 by 1,440 pixels). That said, 1080p should be more than adequate for business use with a 27-inch monitor, unless your job entails photo editing, working with intricate graphics or video, or dealing with genuinely gigantic spreadsheets. If you don't need the higher resolution, there's no sense in paying extra for it. Change the input color format to PC RGB or YPbPr in the Color Settings On-Screen Display Menu (OSD). Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. See how we test. This section provides information on troubleshooting steps that can help resolve the most common issues with the Dell P2719H monitor. Health-Guard eliminates the harmful Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) and reduces the negative Blue Light which affects our eyes and body. Since it’s custom tailored for every panel, it manages to keep the colors perceptually accurate. Health-Guard simulates paper so the pressure on the eyes is greatly reduced. Now, after opening the box (and you are kindly advised to put the box in a horizontal position), you are going to face the first compartment. It holds the two-part mount, some mandatory paperwork and a couple of cables. We have to note that there is no power adapter, meaning you plug the monitor directly to the wall and all of the voltage regulation is happening inside of it. Apart from the power cable, there is a DisplayPort to DisplayPort one and a USB Type-A to Type-B cable. At the right-hand edge of the bottom bezel are five tiny control buttons. The rightmost and largest of the five is an on/off button, while the others help you navigate the monitor's onscreen display (OSD) menu system. The main menu lets you control functions such as brightness and contrast (using sliders controlled by arrow buttons), input source, color, and aspect ratio. Another menu lets you access preset modes, including Standard, Comfort View, Movie, Game, Warm, Cool, and Custom Color. The last allows you to set your own red, blue, and green levels with sliders. Dell P2719H is equipped with a 60Hz Full HD panel. Its diagonal is 27″ (68.58 cm), and the resolution 1920 х 1080 pixels. The screen ratio is 16:9, and we are looking at a pixel density of – 82 ppi, and a pitch of 0.31 х 0.31 mm. The screen turns into Retina when viewed at distance equal to or greater than 105cm (41.3″) (from this distance one’s eye stops differentiating the separate pixels). The monitor's viewing angles, both from the side and above, were wide, typical of an IPS panel, with no discernible dimming or color shift, even at extreme off-center angles.

Lenovo ThinkPad L15 Gen 4 (Intel) review – sturdy business notebook that offers good comfort under load Oct 26, 2023 Lastly, we should mention the neat hole in the stand that is made for cable routing purposes. It definitely does the job well, as it is big enough to fit the power cable, a display connection, as well as the USB upstream cable. PortsIts display covers 95% of the sRGB/ITU-R BT.709 (web/HDTV standard) in CIE1976 (it is able to represent almost all of the colors found on the Web). We test the reaction time of the pixels with the usual “Gray-to-Gray” method from 50% White to 80% White and vice versa between 10% and 90% of the amplitude. Built-In Self Test - The Dell P2719H monitor has a built-in self test that helps you identify if the screen abnormality is with the monitor or the video card (GPU) on your computer. When you notice screen abnormalities like distortion, clarity, horizontal or vertical lines, color fade etc., it is always a good practice to isolate the monitor by running the Built-In Diagnostics. The next figure shows how well the display is able to reproduce really dark parts of an image, which is essential when watching movies or playing games in low ambient light.
