The bright-neutral profile has a more substantial lower-treble boost, not unlike the Sennheiser HD560S. However, the boost is better controlled on the IE 200, resulting in increased transparency without fatigue. Each comparison is done against the IE200. Please keep in mind that the IE600 is FOUR times the cost of the IE200, the Weston W20 was almost double at its release. The B400 was added into the mix because it was around the same price as the IE200 but came out a long time ago and has since been discontinued. In its day, I really enjoyed the B400 sound.

The IE 200 intend to change all that. They are priced competitively, utilize the same driver platform as the flagship IE 900, and measure remarkably well. These IEMs sound amazing to me and they also fit perfect, if I had any complaints it would be that the cable is a bit microphonic but it’s not too bad.Stereo imaging and instrument separation proved highly impressive, too. During the intro to the 2013 remaster of The Eagles’ “Hotel California” there’s a subtle rattle of maracas to the left of the soundstage and what sounds like swirling wind to the right of it. These were both readily identifiable and accurately positioned but also very much part of a cohesive arrangement and not detached or distant from the lead guitar. That ability to convey individual elements distinctly while creating a fleshed-out, engaging sonic picture is something the IE 200 do very well. Depending on tip position, the IE 200 sound can be characterized as either “bass-boosted neutral” or “bright-neutral.” Trumpets here are silky or should sound that way with good timbre, overall mix how does it present, and of course Poncho’s drums ) They’re not as convenient as their wireless competitors and don’t come with handy features like noise cancellation or voice assistant support, but the Sennheiser IE 200 do what they set out to do very well.

Why not make balanced, high-fidelity sound available to everyone, no matter where they are? The IE 200 isSo, much like its far more expensive options, the IE 200 has an L-shape to its earbuds, each of which can be easily detached from its cabling to swap in cables you might want to buy yourself. I have not noticed any driver flex or pressure build-up with the IE 200 so far and they sit nicely fit in my ears during long listening sessions. Nothing negative to report here. The form factor of the IE 200 has pretty much the same design language as its more illustrious siblings though its materials are, unsurprisingly given the lower price point, a bit lower in quality.
