About this deal

And we never get to meet Julia as she is found dead in her own home the next day and appears to have committed suicide. But Livy isn’t convinced. She is determined to uncover the truth about exactly what happened to Julia even if everyone writes her off as being neurotic. This is one of those books where I didn’t overly like any of the characters but loved the guessing game of trying to figure out who the elusive psychopath was. This is a psychological thriller that certainly kept me guessing, one of those books where there appears to be a plethora of suspects for the scary narrator who we know has killed before and will probably not stop until they are caught. Livy continued to dwell and dwell, on her husband's infidelity six years ago with no trust or intimacy. However, on the other hand, she immediately trusts Julia's grieving fiancé, Damian, one of mystery; since Julia had hidden his identity from her.True friends are very rare to find and I’m really glad you found me. You’re a rare gem and I will never do anything to jeopardize our friendship. I love you so much, my good friend. I found the first part of the story most interesting because the mystery was quite intriguing. The story is divided into 4 parts, and the latter half is eyebrow raising. Baby, a day with you is better than a thousand days elsewhere and I need you to know that for me to live is you. I love you beyond words. I’ve got a pretty strong record in guessing who has committed the crime in a thriller novel & did work this out l but it wasn’t straightforward, with a lot of suspects and my guess was mainly due to some fairly strong hints from the author at times.

I did find I didn’t overly like Livy as a character as she was just so listless. I hated that she seemed to have lost her sense of purpose in life and that she felt she had no time for interests outside the family. It bugged me that she didn’t take the time to do something for herself when they were in school. I know she had her problems but I wanted to shake some energy onto her. A completely gripping thriller, and a breath of fresh air. You need to read this book‘ Rebecca Reid, author of TRUTH HURTS I've been so excited to read this for months and months, but I can't even explain how much better it was than I was really expecting. I'm trying to diversify my UKYA reading a little because I feel like I've definitely only scraped the surface so far, but I can confirm Gina seems like the loveliest person and I really wanted to support her work. I got the book for Christmas, in all its neon, metallic glory. And I loved it. Julia is a really interesting character. We only ever get glimpses of her through other people’s eyes and they all have such a different perception of her. So she remains an enigma. I would love to know who she really was but I suppose the truth is somewhere in the middle of all the different versions that we see of her.

The book is set over the course of one month and when we first meet Will and Livy they are heading to a party at his bosses house. And we get to meet most of the main characters at this party which was a good way to be introduced to them. All except one – Julia – Livy’s best friend. I'd recommend this to those who like psychological thrillers, especially if you like reflective dialogue and lengthy list of suspects. If you enjoyed Precious Thing by Colette McBeth or Before I Go To Sleep by S J Watson, then I also think you'd like this one. I constantly thought I knew who the killer was and then kept changing my mind. I even guessed correctly at one point but once again decided it couldn't be them. Right up until it was revealed.
