All the stats are presented nicely in the Zepp app. This is the software that is used for all Amazfit wearables, including Zepp smartwatches. To remind, Huami has recently acquired Zepp and started producing wearables under its brand. Those with heart issues should make sure to enable the heart rate alert option. You manually set the value and if there is no obvious activity and your heart rate is above it, you’ll get a notification. The Amazfit Band 5 has a light and functional design. It feels really comfortable, almost unnoticeable due to only weighing 12 grams. During testing it has been comfortable to wear in the day, during exercise and at night. It's never fallen off and the band hasn't cause any skin irritations or issues. To process the one-tap measurement and other manual metric measurements, please wear the device tightly at one finger-width from the wrist, and keep your arm still for best results. In terms of battery life, the good news is that you're not going to charge the Amazfit Band 5 every few days. The claim is 15 days in typical usage, 25 days in power-saving mode and a big 90 days in standby mode. You're also getting those SpO2 readings carried out by the same sensor that delivers the heart rate data. We tested it against a dedicated pulse oximeter and found that readings were identical. Just like Mi Band, Amazfit Band 5 has a 1.1 inch full colour AMOLED, with 2.5D curved glass protection. That’s actually a nice size for a fitness band. The colours are really vibrant and the text is quite sharp thanks to the126 x 294 pixel resolution and brightness up to 450 nits.

The idea of getting people to think more about heart rate than counting steps is actually a positive thing. Battery Saver Mode: Engage the Battery Saver Mode on the device, which turns off the Bluetooth connection, heart rate and other functions, and only records steps and basic sleep information.

I did a few measurements and they all came in between 95% and 100%. This is considered a healthy range. I also did a comparison of measurements with a few other devices, and the readings were always within a 2% margin. Which is not bad. The way those features work are near identical based on using what appears to very similar software. The color display works well, although it is difficult to read in the sunlight. The touch functionality takes some getting used to.That sits around a 1.1-inch full color AMOLED touchscreen display with a 126 x 294 resolution. You're also getting something that has a 5 ATM waterproof rating, making them safe for pool swimming up to 50 metres and showering with it on. While you can see a fair amount of data on the Mi Band itself, you’ll need to head to the Mi Fit companion phone app, which is compatible with Android and iOS. The Mi Band 6 features a 125 mAh capacity battery just like the Mi Band 5 and that should get you up to 14 days in typical usage and 20 days in power saving mode . In our heavy usage testing, it was 7 days. If you turn off more power intensive features like continuous heart rate monitoring, you will get longer. I was keen to try it out.
