If headphones have ANC microphones, it means they cancel out noise using a dedicated chip (cVc or “Clear Voice Capture”). They do that to minimize the signal’s bandwidth. Since built-in mics are the furthest away from your mouth of the bunch, they also struggle the most with keeping clean call quality. There is also a "concept" build of Ubuntu 23.04 "Lunar Lobster", but it's unfinished and the company asked us not to share the link.
