Is Blue Curacao naturally colored? No! Food coloring is what gives it its distinctive hue. What does Blue Curacao taste like? The laraha descend from the Valencia oranges brought to Curaçao by Spanish explorers in the 1500s. The soil and climate were unsuitable for orange cultivation, and the ori ginal Valencia oranges transformed into the laraha. In terms of alcohol strength, Blue Curacao can vary widely. Weaker versions of this liqueur may be only around 15% ABV, while stronger ones can be 40% ABV or more.
