About this deal

I’m very happy with the overall performance of my Blueair Blue Pure 411 air purifier. It makes a noticeable difference to the air quality in a room, is easy to use, and has the added bonuses of being a white noise machine, nightlight, and fan. It's compact and very light at just 1.5kg so it's easy to carry the thing around. Putting it in the kids' rooms seems like an obvious use for the Blue Pure 411 but I do worry it might not survive the encounter in the long term, unless your children are particularly well behaved, or you put it out of their reach. We found that it does have a number of small flaws in terms of response times and fan speeds though, and the performance will vary depending on the room size. This relatively small air purifier is ideal for small bedrooms, offices, dorm rooms, and nurseries. My experience with the Blueair Blue Pure 411 Air Purifier

Carbon filters remove chemical fumes including VOC's, traffic combustion gases, pet odours, tobacco smoke and many more gaseous pollutants. However not all carbon filters are the same. Basic carbon 'sheet' filters are generally lightweight and have little capacity to adsorb these pollutants effectively. On the other hand filters containing actual carbon 'granules' are infinitely more effective and should always be chosen over carbon sheets where the most effective gaseous pollutant removal is required. What I love about the Blue Pure 411 is that there are no app data read-outs to fuss over or make you feel (more) paranoid about your air quality. It just unobtrusively clears the air 5 times per hour. Unlike many filters, the Blueair Blue Pure 411 comes with a polypropylene filter that can be easily replaced and recycled. Because the pre-filter is external, though, you can easily remove and wash this, meaning it never needs replacing. And if you keep the pre-filter in good shape, with regular vacuuming and cleaning, this will help extend the life of the 2 nd and 3 rd stage filters, helping to further save resources. Those who are used to compact air purifiers might be surprised at the size of the LG PuriCare AeroTower – but don't let that scare you off, since it actually takes up less space than you'd think, thanks to it svelte frame. In our tests, we found that the air purifiers removed the lingering smells of candles, incense and dry shampoo. IN terms of power consumption, having been on for four hours on the Everyday setting, the air purifier used only 0.008kWh of electricity, which is so low you’ll barely notice a change in your electricity bill. In the UK, this is less than 2p per 24 hours of continual use at this setting (based on an electricity price of 35p per kWh). In the US, the cost would be less than 1 cent for a 24-hour period (based on an electricity price of 20c per kWh). Note that prices vary between states and suppliers, so you may need to do your own calculations. Either way, the Blue Pure 411 Auto air purifier isn't an appliance that guzzles energy.

The Blueair Blue Pure has a 3-stage filtration process that first captures larger particles like dust and pet hair in an external washable pre-filter. The air then moves through a particle filter and activated carbon filter. With arguably better than HEPA technology, this air purifier traps airborne contaminants down to the size of a virus. The Blueair Blue Pure is great for clearing air of:

A reasonably priced purifier to freshen the air in your home

The Blueair Blue Pure 411 Auto arrives set up and ready to go out of the box. All I had to do was familiarize myself with the controls, which didn’t take long since there’s just one button and four settings. The air quality light was showing blue at first, but just one spray from a can of anti-perspirant deodorant in the area above the purifier, saw it change to orange within a few seconds. This tells me that the air quality sensors are doing their job. Yes – air purifiers come with carbon filters that remove the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) that cause smells. These could be cooking odors, scented candles or aerosols. The Shark 3-in-1 Air Purifier, Heater and Fan is a great alternative to the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool Formaldehyde HP09, coming in at a fraction of the price. In addition, there's no accompanying app, which may just suit those looking for a more simple unit. I was testing the unit in spring, when the pollen was affecting my husband's hay fever. As such, I kept the Blueair purifier running on auto the whole time, switching to Night mode at bed time. On several occasions I noticed the air quality light change from blue to orange, as well as red; the unit increased the speed accordingly, which was reassuring. But I’d use the Everyday mode in winter, when there are fewer contaminants that might irritae.
