Each player chooses a character to race with. In the standard edition, you have Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad to chose between. There are others you can buy to expand the game, more on that later. Each Character gets a special boost when that Character rolls a certain Power-up Ability. This replaces and enhances that Ability. See your Character card for details.
