The Night Angel series is set in Midcryu continent in the country of Cenaria. There are many forms of magic in this world, but The Talent is the most common in Midcyru. Brent Weeks began her Night Angel series in 2008 with The Way of Shadows and ended the same year with Beyond the Shadows. The series is also known as Die Schatten Trilogy in German, L’Ange de la Nuit in French, L’angelo della note in Italian, and El ángel de la noche in Spanish. The book begins in 1938; much of Dr. Ho’s work involves developing good international relations, as the Chinese are currently at war with Japan. The Chinese diplomats are keen to negotiate promises of weaponry from the Germans, but they are led on a long political dance. Kylar Stern rejected the killer’s life. After a bloody coup, organized by the Godking, Kylar’s master and the closest friend were killed. The friend was Logan Gyre – heir to the Canadian throne. However, few aristocrats survived to mourn his death. So Kylar starts again: in a new city, with new companions, in a new profession. When Night Angel was announced as the winner of season 3, a snippet of audio from her performance from week 8 was played.I didn't like the liberties that the author took with his character or the unnecessary drama. I felt like she could have had a better solid story if she had just made up a character during the time period instead of using a real person and kind of discrediting his work a bit here. What Dr. Ho Fengshan did was truly amazing, and the outcome of that should have been told - but he deserved way better than this. There should have been more accurate research done, but the author did not do him nor his life work justice. It was very unfortunate. Although you've probably already heard and been told some of the common angel signs, its important to know that your guardian angels may use any number of signs and synchronicity to get your attention.
