About this deal

If you are going to use a machine that makes a hot drink with opaque plastic pods and a tankful of water, why not go full tilt? The main difference is the size of the whisk; Salter’s is between a 5p and 10p in size, it’s not big enough to whisk though the chocolate shavings effectively, which means you’re left with milk speckled with chocolate instead of seamlessly blended through, and a melted mess at the bottom of the jug.

The cups add to the value but don't have handles, so not ideal for the youngest kids but otherwise perfect to warm your hands on. Please can you tell me which of your suggested hot chocolate makers or frothers do not have a non stick lining The Hotel Chocolate Velvetiser used to have a non stick lining, this is the reason I did not originally purchase one. The Hotel Chocolat, Dualit, Gourmet Gadgetry and Homgeek machines all deserve to be commended for at least supporting flaked chocolate and powders. An upgrade from the Nespresso Aeroccino3, this sleek and glossy frother has three options (hot froth, cold froth, and hot milk) and a sturdy black handle that allows for seamless pouring.Patience please while the Velvetiser does its thing, then simply drain the liquid into the sink, rinse the inside of the jug and leave it to air dry. It has different settings so you can warm up milk, achieve a thick froth, or light froth, and also use for cold drinks too. Our semi-skimmed milk was surprisingly less frothy, but provided enough hot, thick foam to top an espresso or hot chocolate. There's no guidance on how much so you'll need to try various quantities to find the right blend for your favourite drink.

Turn off the heat and add the chocolate (the instructions will usually give guidance on how much, but it's usually around 20g to 25g per cup). It's genuinely one of my favourite kitchen gadgets, as you can see in my Hot Chocolate Shaker review.

I'm not a fan of the red colour but it does sit perfectly next to other products in the Gourmet Gadgetry Retro Diner range. Dreamed up by Hotel Chocolat, and engineered to the highest standards for them by Dualit®, the copper-coloured Velvetiser is an ultra-chic hot chocolate maker that creates barista-grade hot chocolate drinks at the press of a button. poor quality -TINY capacity -froth is minimal, no cold froth, no hot froth, lukewarm milk -very fragile, underpowered- motor often stalls at just plant milk as well as flakes -put in a small spoon of powder turmeric. It's both simple to operate and fun to use, and the compact cylinder design allows for easy transportability.
