About this deal

This makes it much easier to detach vacuum heads and extension tubes in one swift movement, though it does mean that all accessories released prior to the V8 will be incompatible. The key development with the Dyson Cyclone V10, though, is the new V10 “digital” motor, which has been significantly redesigned to provide more power in a smaller package than the V8. The bin itself is simpler and easier to release for cleaning, the wand provided with the Dyson Cyclone V10 is 50g lighter than before and Dyson has also improved the design of the standard motor-driven cleaner head so that it picks up more dust.

Thankfully, the V10 has a much more energy-dense battery than its predecessors, meaning you can now vacuum continuously for up to 60 minutes on the lowest setting. The one downside to having a front-facing bin is that you'll now have to remove any attachments whenever you want to empty the device — although chances are you were already doing that anyway and never realized. I was informed this was unusual and for my inconvenience this would be replaced with a new one which I was grateful for.The worst will give you less than twenty minutes of power and take more than half a day to fully recharge.

This score shows how well each cordless vacuum cleaner sucks up large debris, like rice and lentils, from flat hard surfaces. Emptying the bin is by far the best we've had and the mess slips easily into the waiting receptacle with no dust flooding out after the pet hair. If you want to compare how well the vacuum cleans when the battery is full, compare the floorboard star rating to this one. While some cordless vacuums will comfortably suck up dust from a flat hard surface, floorboards with deep crevices often prove a lot more challenging. I then reversed this on another section of nearby carpet, cleaning with the V10, then the V8 to see how the results differed. Since our initial review of the V10 was published, it’s been a big hit but Dyson has now released its successor – the Dyson Cyclone V11 – and it’s even better than the V10. This score shows how well each cordless vacuum cleaner sucks up fine dust from hard flat floors such as laminate. Maximum power offers incredible suction (we put our fingers up to the vacuum head and were amazed by how strong it was – enough so that we'd firmly suggest not trying this at home), though unfortunately this setting will completely drain the battery after roughly five minutes of usage.

If you want to compare how well this vacuum cleans when the vacuum is full, and empty, then compare the floorboard star rating, with this one. The suction on low is more than adequate to clean up the every day mess from the cat fur and it gives a really useful run time. I wouldn’t could have told it was refurbished apart from a sticker on the box- it looked brand new in the original box with all the accessories.Along with its technological advancements, the Dyson Cyclone V10 sports a number of other improvements which just make sense. Opening the bin is as simple as pushing down the red release valve under the unit, which slides the whole bin down in the process and expels any contents within. It's so convinced by the device's sucking prowess that it's completely stopped developing corded vacuums going forward. If you're after a cord-free vacuum and won't settle for anything less than the best, look no further than the Dyson Cyclone V10. In fact, before I go any further into this review, it’s worth laying out the differences between the “models” and what you get and don’t get, because it’s not abundantly clear from the names.
