About this deal

C and Julius Caesar is leading battle-hardened legions across Rubicon River and this puts Rome at risk. In 2012, Iggulden added a further Quick Reads book to the list Quantum of Tweed – The Man with a Nissan Micra – a comedy about an unwitting hitman. In 2010, there was media coverage toward a proposed epic film Emperor: Young Caesar to be about the early life of Julius Caesar covering the years from 92 BC to 71 BC and based on the first two novels of Iggulden's Emperor series, The Gates of Rome and The Death of Kings. This entire trilogy has fantastic characters and wonderful world building, and some readers hope there are more books set in this world, as there a lot of characters here that could have books of their own. Currently, the self-appointed Liberatores run for refuge in the senate neglecting the power of Caesar’s adopted son, Octavian.

I received an advanced copy of Darien: Empire of Salt via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The book concentrates on an aging Roman Empire and the early days of Julius Caesar who would become the world’s most powerful ruler. It covers around eighty topics, from building a soapbox racer and tying knots, to learning about famous battles and how to make potassium aluminium sulphate crystals. Now they will be re-united by a shockwave from the North where a gladiator, Spartacus is building an army of 70000 slaves. This is also shown by presence of guns in this world, something more akin to Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere worlds or even Gemmell’s Jon Shannow than, say, Game of Thrones. In September 2010 Empire of Silver was released, which revolves around the life of Genghis Khan's son, Ogedai.Their arrival inside of the walls while the sun sets is going to set off a series of explosive events.

C. F. Iggulden - Penguin Books UK

It a masterpiece pf historical fiction where readers are taken on a thrilling journey through ancient Rome. He went to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Primary in Ruislip, Middlesex, then attended St Martins School in Northwood, before moving on to Merchant Taylors' School. Men nearer at hand speak in whispers of war and the destruction of a great city to the west - Darien. It tells the story of Kublai Khan who is an extraordinary man worthy of remembrance alongside Julius Caesar, Napoleon Bonaparte and Alexander the Great. The delicate balance of centuries is undone with the sudden spill of blood, and in the darkness, there is something horrible that comes back to Shiang. Being a thriller, Blackwater was a change in genre for Iggulden who had mainly written historical fiction. Born in 1971 to an English father (who was an RAF pilot during the Second World War, [1] ) and Irish mother (whose grandfather was a seanchaí).
