The player with the highest value on their card is the first to choose one of these cards to add to their collection.

A “forest” will also be dealt, which is eight randomly dealt cards from the forest pile, that runs horizontally across your playing surface. It’s easier to learn to play using the standard straight-line form, but we’ve found the circle method much more manageable. Once the draw pile is emptied and the forest floor depleted, each player tallies up their points and the one with the highest amount wins.The game is quite original, although from time to time similar mechanics are found in the environment of games.

Manage your hand well, avoid poisonous mushrooms and don’t forget to add a bit of butter and cider to your dish for extra points and you should do well in Fungi. This ups your hand limit to ten and means you’re only adding three cards to your hand, keeping it within the limit. The components are also made to a very high standard and once it’s been unpacked, Fungi fits back into the same box that you took it out of which seems to be becoming a far-out idea. I’ve given the “lots of low-value mushrooms plus Butters and Cidres” strategy a go a couple of times.
