About this deal

OCTAVIA BROMELL combines analogue and digital painting to create vibrant illustrations of the inspirational people and beautiful plants of her dreams.

She spends hours obsessing over colour combinations and creating her illustrations, which are inspired by vintage children's books, lovely packaging and folk art. Meet Emmeline Pankhurst, an inspiring women's rights activist who changed the world for future generations of women. How would you feel knowing your every word, action, appearance, and even wardrobe (right down to the purse she carried) will be analyzed and reported on endlessly? The illustrations are both cute and appropriately detailed, giving a sense of historic fashions and technology.Thank you NetGalley, Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, and Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for this book. This charming book beautifully captures the life of the late Queen Elizabeth II for children 4 to 7. Part of the beloved Little People, Big Dreams series, the story is told through colorful illustrations and text, black and white photos, a detailed timeline, plus the Queen's beloved corgis scattered throughout, giving readers a profound sense of her challenges and joys from childhood through 70 years as Britain's longest-reigning monarch. Meet Billie Jean King, the tennis star who has dedicated her life to breaking barriers both on and off the tennis court. Unlike her grandchildren today who are being raised in the shadow of what’s ahead, the first decade of Elizabeth’s life was carefree, with little understanding nor expectation of a royal destiny.

As always the drawings in this series are so cute and beautiful and the explanations are interesting while being age appropriate.

Meet three inspirational Earth Heroes whose love of the natural world inspires them to make a difference: Jane Goodall, Greta Thunberg, and David Attenborough! This would make a great addition to any school library for sure and is important for children of the UK especially to have the option to read. This book was written and in production before Queen Elizabeth passed, so it is not included in the book.

The first lesson Elizabeth learned was that “a good queen serves her people, not the other way around. If someone is interested in a picture book biography that does mention the role of Christianity in the Queen's life, I would recommend Queen Elizabeth II: The Queen Who Choose To Serve, a recent release from a Christian publisher.

Discover the lives of key figures from throughout history, from creatives and activists to scientists and politicians.

A bumper activity book companion to the multimillion-copy bestselling Little People, BIG DREAMS series. This one kept my niece and nephew engaged and was the perfect springboard to further discussions about our new King, the succession and what it means to be a royal child. Of course there was much that was enjoyable, and I remember plenty of pictures of her smiling and laughing with genuine pleasure. The illustrations by Melissa Lee Johnson were okay, but knowing what Queen Elizabeth looked like, I didn't the likeness in most of the images.
