Without giving too much away, trips to the Nether and the End, along with creepers, zombies, and Endermen may seem slightly confusing if you're not at least somewhat familiar with what can be done in Minecraft. Despite a somewhat passive gameplay and some fluidity breaks, this is a pleasant and alluring experience that will appeal to players beyond the Minecraft fan base, with extra points going for the game's excellent voice work. Suffice to say, everything here is presented in a pleasing and easy to navigate fashion, and fans of the series will find plenty to love.Minecraft: Story Mode takes place in an interpretation of the world of Minecraft, known as the "Overworld", where the game is the extent of the characters' universe, and the characters are unaware that they are in a game. Some examples are the haunting of Endermen, a Ghast, two Competitors playing Spleef, PAMA, The White Pumpkin's Mansion, and the Wither Storm. Carrying on in the tradition of Episode 5 — which offered a standalone story — Episode 6 sees Jesse and the gang taking refuge in a creepy mansion from a strangely large group of zombies outside. In short, Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure is a worthwhile ride, though it is a bit inconsistent in terms of the quality of the episodes. If you have purchased these seasons, please download all remaining episodes prior to the service being discontinued in June.

At the time he was trying to convince me it that it was one of the best games he had played in years, my rebuttal was that he didn't actually play a game he just watched a movie. However, if Jesse is to survive the Old Builders' Gladiator Games and get home, he/she must forge new friendships with the other contestants and navigate a labyrinth of lies and deception. As such, the decisions are intended to be pivotal and emotional but not to involve mature imagery or themes. The game features combat and other action sequences, carried out through both quick time events similar to Telltale's other episodic games, and more arcade-like controls, such as steering around debris on a road. Metacritic gave the Windows version 69/100 based on 4 reviews, [61] the PlayStation 4 version 68/100 based on 6 reviews [62] and the Xbox One version 71/100 based on 5 reviews.
