The actual story starts with him going for a walk in Happyland, when he discovers a small door at the bottom of a tree trunk. He wondered if he could make a living writing and illustrating children’s books so he wrote the first Mr Men titles: Mr Tickle, Mr Greedy, Mr Happy, Mr Nosey, Mr Sneeze and Mr Bump. I suggest this because all it takes to cure him of his perpetual melancholy was to take him back to the surface, which happens to be Happy Land.
