About this deal
De boeken van Tom zijn altijd bijzonder om te lezen, de illustraties ondersteunen het verhaal zee zeker. The Christmasaurus is Tom's first novel for young readers, and combines his love of Christmas and dinosaurs. It was a rock star book and I loved reading it, especially the bit where megavolt nearly put his fist on the red button to eclipse all the planets. Their school's Battle of the Bands contest is coming up but after being beamed up into space, they end up battling alien bands from all over the galaxy!
My copy is signed, "To Mr Ayers and his class", so I figured I should read it myself this summer before I potentially recommend it to my first class in September. Was lucky enough to meet Tom Fletcher in person and get a copy signed, so I was looking forward to reading this one! Now, not only do they have to contend with Bash's excitement at being in literal space, Neila performing in front of thousands of ALIENS(! picture-book series and is one half of the author duo behind the Dinosaur that Pooped picture-book series too, which has sold over 1. The story was great, the aliens superb and the addition of McFly songs to accompany the book was stunning. When the prize is revealed to be tickets to a sold-out Max Riff and the Comets concert, even George's reluctant parents get involved to win the kids those tickets!
The references to McFly, Tom's family and other musicians were brilliant, and the story line was inventive and fun too!Our own parents couldn’t even pretend to like the noises that leaked out of our garage – the place where we rehearsed every day after school. With interactive music and cute illustrations, this is a book that I feel adults and children alike will enjoy.
This is very obviously a kids book, but the storyline is so funny and entertaining that even as an adult I flew through it and found myself having a marvellous time! The book follows the story of best friends and bandmates George, Neila and Bash, who find themselves beamed up into space to compete in an intergalactic Battle of the Bands. I also really liked the fact that the songs in the book have been recorded by McFly and are all on Spotify, which seems like a pretty original idea as far as I know.Join our community to get personalised book suggestions, extracts straight to your inbox, 10% off RRPs, and to change children’s lives.
