About this deal

Unless of course you count the fact that many of the Taskmaster series have incredibly puzzle-y and escape room-like challenges in them? There’s also a Taskmaster Academy with quizzes, Group Tasking, Solo Tasking, and a Jukebox with all the music from the show. If you’re also serving drinks, the drunker players get the less patience they’ll have (but the goofier they’ll get! The Secret Series Game invites you and your family and friends to take part in your own series of Taskmaster games at home! Unfortunately I don’t have a garden but I did make good use of the surrounding neighbourhood area with one particular (not messy) outdoor task.

That’s a lot of words for: I tried really hard to make it fun, it paid off, and so I wanted to share some tips and tricks with you. This series seven task requires contestants to make the best noise possible – whether that's just using themselves or things around the house to assist them.

Unless you’re playing a pre-purchased Taskmaster game, your last big challenge is probably going to be deciding who and how to ‘host’ the game. The Taskmaster book is a useful resource but a quick look around twitter and youtube will also show you how all sorts of people have had a go. If you fancy staging your own Taskmaster event, at school, on a hen night, with cub scouts or at a family birthday, then please do!

And, on the topic of judging, try to make sure the tasks aren’t too ambiguous in terms of “who won”. Containing 70 cards with some of the best loved tasks from the series, you and your friends or family can have fun playing the game and putting yourselves to the tasks where you will both judge - and be judged! The best ways to come up with tasks are to re-watch old series for inspiration, or just look at a fun round-up article like this one. With just one day left until the final of the final of series of 10 and a matter of weeks before the Taskmaster festive special, many fans will understandably be developing task-fever – the sudden craving to have a go at some of the challenges themselves.

This meant that the winner walked away with a massive 60 something points, but everyone was at least over 40 by the end.

In any case, couples (generally) work far too well together and you don’t want to give anyone an unfair advantage. Packed with extraordinary tasks for ordinary people, this game brings the essence of the show to the comfort of your own home. This series six task asks contestants to remove a five pound note, which has been placed under a pint glass filled with water/beer/whatever you'd like, without spilling the pint or touching the glass. Taskmaster isn’t about being the best (well, maybe), it’s about doing things you’ve never done before that you might look incredibly goofy doing. Sure, the book is a handy way to carry out tasks and compete with and against others, but it isn’t a boardgame is it?

All players (except the Taskmaster) complete the task within the specified time, and The Taskmaster must judge and award 1-5 points to each player. While Alex Horne gave celebrities Frank Skinner, Josh Widdicombe, Romesh Ranganthan, Tim Key and Roisin Conaty an hour to complete the task, whoever is the appointed Taskmaster within your group can decide an amount of time – we'd suggest five or 10 minutes. Then, in print-layout I made sure each task was on a separate page at an appropriate size, and then printed the whole thing out on card. Shuffle the task cards, count out the correct number of tasks and place them in the middle of the gameplay area.
