The only thing it lacks is a solid platform on the top, which might be an issue for some folk, but I really only ever carry stuff in the panniers, and I've fitted a mudguard on both bikes anyway, so it's no problem for me. This rack fit all of the common wheel sizes meaning that on a 26" mtb there will be a fair bit of head room between the rear tire and the base of the rack.
