TBS®II Tension Band System - Ensures the tent performs in adverse conditions, especially in strong, changeable winds. Kerrera, there's just me and the dog but I'm toying with going for the 300 (just in case I get lucky, I mean in case someone wants to tag along some time! Head room was a little restrictive but this will always be the compromise when choosing a smaller tent. If the outside temperature is much cooler than that inside the tent, then the cooling of the air in the beams is quite quick.

The Venturi Vent system provides a constant flow of fresh air through the tent by creating a chimney effect to draw stale air out and fresh air in, perfect for multi day trips.

Tent manufacturers show the size as a maximum amount of people and will not consider for any extra space you may need. They are very stable and the two exits are handy, not for carrying though unless you have 4 DofEs to do it for you.The 200 looked just a little too snug for me and my motorbike gear, so I chose the 300 for more space, and because it was on special offer at Millets with an extra 10% discount if purchased online (came out cheaper than the Tempest 200). I went for a cheap and cheerful groundsheet but not having a built in bathtub groundsheet was a new experience for me and I was not impressed. I fully agree with comments about pegs though - I use 'ALPKIT' spikes which are anodised, solid aluminium and are virtually indestructible. Tent can be easily divided to allow several people to carry it, making it a firm favourite with youth groups and DofE.

On polycotton, avoid pressing against the sides of the tents as this can cause water to seep through.
