In February 2015, it was announced that Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble would develop a television series based on the novel at Showtime. Joe felt sloppy and for much of this book it felt like nothing was happening and that was a huge bummer. There was a long period here where I thought the book was going to be very different but then it passed. I can’t even remember where he left off with the Quinn family, but usually, a man who went to jail and has not one, but three ex’s disappear or die, it’s suspicious.
But some positives: while the fight at the end was longer than necessary—let’s be real, so many of Joe’s monologues could have been cut and we’d follow along just fine—there was some good writing there as they slung insults at each other.I lift us out of the muck — I audited a few classes at Columbia — but I fuck up the details and that’s because of you. You and me with RIP Spalding Gray reincarnated, laughing about how we met in a fellowship, the only two autodidacts in the room. All that said, it's not as good as the first in the series (none usually are) but it fits well within the overall theme of the larger story. While Joe miraculously survives this attempted murder, no room for interpretation as to Love's fate is given in what is by far the most harrowing chapter of You Love Me. He's also adamant Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars movie out there - which he consistently gets flak for.
Except this time, I had a few laughs, which was nonexistent in the third- I’m talking no lip twitch, no smirk, nothing. She’s living at the same old house with her family, taking care of her needy, grumpy father, her careless sister and her lovely nephew. The first 20% of this book was a struggle and, in fact, I almost set this down but once Joe got murder on his mind it did start to pick up.I was happy to see when Love came back again, stayed alive for so long and what they did with her in that story. This fourth book was almost like a slap in the face for all the non-literary readers who don’t pick up Salinger or all the other legendary authors. Of course, it’s possible that the woman on the other side of the fence will not be Joe’s new love interest. I can’t talk to you, and I have nothing to say about kayaks, cleaning ladies, or fried clams, so I can’t talk to my fellows, and don’t you get it, Wonder? For a thin, light and tiny laptop, the MacBook Pro 13-inch sure has plenty of audio power, and the sound quality isn’t bad either.So, how much the Surface Book 4 13-inch and 15-inch models are going to cost is anyone’s guess at this point. As you might have guessed, this makes it all the more simple for Joe to get exactly what he wants—even if requires does something immoral. This skillful insight into Joe’s questionable psyche and narration is a delight and beautifully sets up Joe as an unreliable narrator.
