About this deal

Basically, it has been widely reported, that J Lopez used to wear China Rain (original version, not the vanilla type,) in 'the nineties' - for years - it was her absolute favourite - as it was my aunt's favourite - & many ppl swore by China Rain, my aunt told me - bc it's fresh & beautiful, clean, a little soapy, but something where ppl will say you smell good, rather than particularly commenting on your perfume. It's one of those, which ppl not really interested in perfumes wore as signature, a wear & forget type thing - they probably buy a bottle once a year, & love it but never think of it - they like to smell fresh, clean, & 'put together' - but not particularly overly 'perfume-y' - you're wearing perfume, it's not an overly 'barely there' type - but it's one of those - another is Chloe edp (that 90's version, which was slightly updated, much later,) they both hv that vibe, clean, slightly soapy, with some rose - CR has more of the green notes, & for me, is more wearable; & I noticed when I was a child, my Aunt always smelled lovely - it was only when I was older I realised what she wore, bc she never mentioned it - & didn't need to keep it in her bag to touch up, during the day - it was present, all day & never overpowering. It's a rather pallid scent, and here I was nervous that I would find it overpowering as some posters have described, since my tolerance for strong scents is very low. I'm not about to say many nice things about this perfume, so allow me to say, the note profile of this fragrance is sophisticated for a celebrity release. I much prefer relaxing tea-floral fragrances to the slew of childish fruity floral perfumes that celebs typically release. I blind bought it for the notes, and the notes are accurately reflected by the Fragrantica votes. I was told it was a tropical smelling fragrance and perfect for warm summer weather. So I went for it. I love anything tropical. I categorize tropical with fresh fruits mixed with florals — tiare, plumeria (Frangipani) or jasmine. a b Silverman, Stephen (December 20, 2002). Beach vibes all the way!!! I love this scent. This a very happy, young, clean, summery, fun-loving scent which definitely reminds me of good times spent on the beach. It's a cheap alternative to other more expensive beach scents that doesn't feel cheap. If this fragrance was a person, they would be a clean, pretty (of course), sophisticated, dressed up in a dapper white dress/suit with a neat hairstyle but however is open for something wild kind of person, if that makes sense. I'm thankful I do not get that "pee" note that has been mentioned, but I would like to point out that I thought I could smell a bit of that after wearing this one for 8+ hours. Honestly I don't think this plays well with sweat but don't let that stop you! It's lovely! Great for an office environment or the healthcare field! I was trying to figure out exactly what I love so much about this when it finally hit me. It's a cultural thing! I am of mixed latina heritage, but primarily from Mexico. I have had the privilege of traveling quite a bit throughout Mexico. Here in Los Angeles, there are quite a lot of Mexicanos as well. If there is one thing we Mexicanos love it's a fresh, clean smelling person. Almost every one I know uses Dove soap and Nivea lotion because of the clean smell. We also love Ariel laundry detergent and Suavitel fabric softener because of the fresh clean smells. It's actually quite nice and does remind me of being on a fancy beach in the summer. It's a bit of a different twist to your average beachy, summer perfume. I'll straight up tell you the weirdest and most intriguing thing about this fragrance is that is so tropical, so plastic, and so soapy ALL IN ONE. Still..... I could go into the notes on this one and write a very lengthy composition but I won't. I'll keep it short, sweet and simple.

The reform of Glow, has even more 'cyanoacrylate' ie, superglue in it - which totally ruins it for me - once you smell that you can't get past that, I think - & even previous fans may be hard pushed to keep wearing it.

I find that way harsh and sharp in its opening, and it settles kind of sour. I wouldn't recommend that one as a lovely tea fragrance to anyone. Choose this instead! I had a feeling this was going to be a fail for me, so I didn't buy it for the longest time. One day my curiosity got the better of me and I bought it, thankfully for a decent price. What a mistake! I am rarely proven wrong when I don't think I am going to like a fragrance. I need to learn to trust that instinct more often Sometimes you need to buy travel sized bottles of hyped fragrances to remind yourself that hype doesn't often live up to your reality. The reformulation has not done it any favours, + the longevity has suffered. This is a copy of 'China Rain' - which is ofc, an oil - & the oil keeps the notes 'rounded' & quite beautiful - it's better quality & is a lovely, fresh, clean, kind-of soapy, but not laundry detergent - as you find in Glow; Glow is v detergent-y, in the opening, espc, now - you don't need me to describe the notes; so many ppl hv done so already, but, in it's fullest, Glow is now mainly, sweet grapefruit/a quite synthetic & rough orange blossom, with a more prominent rose - surprisingly powdery - gives me original Anais Anais vibes actually - & ofc, both J Lo & Jennifer Aniston were fans of that, too - when I was tiny, Anais Anais was popular, but later, I tried it & couldn't wear it - ditto this. Tbh - now - it's pretty awful, throughout, & even in the original early 2000's bottle - it was plastic-ky - but after the mess of the opening, it did used to settle down - & if it suited your chemistry it could be quite pleasant but.. it's not good now at all.

It's a very clean, powdery, soapy, slightly spicy, almost "dry", unisex scent. I don't get any of the sunscreen, creamy, beachy or fruity drink vibes I've heard about as I don't detect any coconut or sweetness whatsoever. I'd probably be okay with it if they turned up the dial on the coconut and fruity notes a bit because it basically smells like bar soap as is. How incredibly late to the Glow party I am! At least it’s still around. I tried this 5 or so years ago and it hit me wrong during a headache, but I gave it another chance and now my nose has grown into it! You must love flowers, and specifically jasmine!! For a floral musk, it has a warm fuzzy thing that just gets me. I recently smelled another bottle of this fragrance and I definitely got a bad bottle. The other bottle I smelled does infact smell more fruity and tropical/beachy but still has that same clean, soapy, powdery undertone that my bottle has. It's like if you took some of my thoughts in my initial review but added a lot more tropical fruit and sweetness to it. Blue Glow by JLo is the fifth flanker of Glow endorsed by Jennifer Lopez. Released in Spring 2010, it is a "refreshing watery fragrance" and has notes of water lily, vanilla orchid, sea wood, cedar and mangosteen; the bottle comes with a complimentary silver anklet. [23] Glow has spawned several flankers, with the first being Miami Glow, and the most recent being L.A. Glow. In May 2012, she released her eighteenth fragrance, Glowing by JLo, which was described as the "evolution" of Glow and marked her 10-year anniversary working with Coty. Since Glow, Lopez has been credited with influencing other celebrity endorsements of fragrance, [4] which has included Halle Berry, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Madonna, among others. I also love the song that (I imagine) this scent is named after. It’s still in my playlist rotation! In the opening, all I get is generic fresh green floral, brightened by citrus, heavy on the lily of the valley. Lily of the valley is one of those notes that gives me a headache, almost without exception (Jo Malone LE Lily of the Valley is the exception...). I was hoping for prominence of the Earl Grey Tea and rice notes. I can make the Earl Grey out, just, about 20 minutes in. And the rice note is slightly more discernible at that point. The lily of the valley green floral fades a tiny bit, but it retains that slightly screechy powdery headache inducing quality for me, which is quite sad. There’s an inoffensive woody base that the rice and screechy lily of the valley sit on. This doesn’t project a long time on me. Lasts maybe 2-3 hours on my skin, when I’m generally glad to be rid of it. But I really do like that rice note and the bottle. Oh well. Jennifer Lopez, Glow By J.Lo: The Collection". Three and a half years ago, I was a Law student running on a tight budget and indulging in fragrances was a major luxury. But on one particular February evening, I marched to the local beauty supplies store in the University area and requested the SA to show me some 'budget options'. Jlo's Glow has had a consistent place in my collection ever since a friend started wearing it in highschool around 2005. Usually, I am not a fan of neroli or tuberose. I also very much dislike celebrity fragrances. I don't usually reach for soapy scents either. Yet somehow Glow brings all of these notes together to produce a juice that is slightly warm, musky, feminine, addicting and fresh and I am absolutely hooked. Glow is ever so slightly sweet, has a feeling of Love's Baby Soft but not so cloying and aggressive. In my mind this is JPG's Classique for women's younger sister and if you own both you might understand what I mean; Glow has the same syrupy skin scent as Classique but without the complexity. Body mists from the drugstore smell nicer than this perfume. The florals are screechy and it's synthetic smelling. It's along the lines of something Versace would release, but worse. I'd strongly urge you not to blind buy this. For my money I prefer Elizabeth Arden Green Tea or one of its flankers, they may not last long but they smell much nicer. It's hard to describe it, but as Jennifer Lopez says, this is soapy and clean, and sexy. Sexy like a confident woman getting out of the shower, feeling sexy and confident in her own skin and body, no make up or frills, just a white cotton t-shirt and cheeky underwear, walking around her house, pouring herself a glass of water. This is a universal, appropriate for any occasion clean smell. It is a bit sharp and screechy, but it just makes it even better. It isn't medicinal or bug spray like Infusion D'Iris by Prada, it is soft, but noticeable, and just so fresh, clean, and perfect. One spray is already enough, but you can douse yourself in it. a b "glow by jlo". May 16, 2005. Archived from the original on May 16, 2005 . Retrieved March 3, 2012.
