About this deal

If you haven’t already noticed, this yarn of more of a novelty yarn than a typical strand. It’s fluffy, but easy to work with. So I wanted to make the design simple, but I also wanted to create some dimension to it. Most people probably associate hygge with big and bulky crochet and that's definitely part of it but not all. Hygge yarn is worsted weight but many hygge-inspired patterns involve bulky yarn and large hooks ( or hands).

Lay out the sleeve (one at a time) so that the fabric naturally gets wider, like a sleeve would. Measure up from the first row of the cuff until you reach 10″ high. You want the width at the “top” of the sleeve to be about 9” across. Use a stitch marker to mark the place where the pieces intersect and to keep two pieces from separating as you sew. One of the most popular yarn companies, Red Heart, certainly wanted to exemplify this idea in their popular Hygge yarn line. Lay out scarf. On each end, fold to create sleeve and overlap by 10 stitches. Hold the place with stitch markers and count your stitches. You should have 32 sts total around the opening, 10 of which you will be working through both sides of the fabric. The width should be about 6.5” – 7” across at row one of the cuff. Insert your hook through both sides of the fabric where overlapped to start. (see photo) So let’s talk about this yarn again. For the Cozy Hygge Blanket Wrap, I used Red Heart Hygge yarn (the softest, most beautiful yarn in the world), but if you look it up you’ll find a few different kinds. Row 1: Ch-43, sc in 2nd ch from hook. * dc in next ch, sc in next ch * repeat across, dc in last ch. (42)

Row 1: Sc in same st and across those 10 overlapped sts. Sc around entire opening. Join to top of first sc with sl st. (32) You see, hygge is a feeling of coziness, happiness, or just any special moment. After I wrapped myself in this blanket, I literally imagined myself sitting next to a fire with a hot cup of coffee, watching my boys roast marshmallows. Red Heart Hygge is a brand new yarn with the look of luxurious mohair or angora... but even softer and so much easier to care for! This month I'm taking a closer look at Red Heart Hygge in the Yarn Love yarn review (and more) on Moogly!

Honestly, I am horrible at naming my patterns. I usually name them after the name of the stitch I used or the yarn… I know, how original! Hook and Needles Seen In This Video: Susan Bates 6.5mm Knitting Needles; Furls US-K, 6.5mm and US-N, 9.0mm Streamline Hooks; Clover USA 12.0mm hookUsing your leftover yarn, cut 92 strands of yarn approximately 18 inches long. Attach your yarn along the side of your blanket wrap (one strand per row) using a crochet hook. Lay out scarf. On each end, fold to create sleeve and overlap by 10 stitches. Hold the place with stitch markers and count your stitches. You should have 26 sts total around the opening, 10 of which you will be working through both sides of the fabric. The width should be about 5.5” – 6” across at row one of the cuff. Insert your hook through both sides of the fabric where overlapped to start. (see photo)
