About this deal

Vincent, is a larger than life character who has gained a massive fan following among romance readers, but I am sorry to say that I will not be one of the ladies who is panting after this fictional hero. Vincent and the timid wallflower, Evie, cast off their pasts and took a chance for a future filled with light, love and happiness ever after. And recently kidnapped Westcliff's finance, Lillian, to force her to marry him because he wanted her dowery. I absolutely bloody loved this – emotional growth, foot warmers, back massages… this is my love language! What a truly beautiful, romantic book, with so many sigh-worthy moments, so many humorous moments, lots of wickedly sexy dialogue.

I am on to Daisy's book and though I'm sure I will enjoy it I think this book will go down as my favorite of the series! Until the wedding, you see them comfortable with each other because of their situation - in fact Sebastian states that he has never been referred to as 'comfortable' - but they have chosen a path which they both need, in fact are desperate for. My responsibility, on the other hand, is to pass my time in profligate idleness and wait for him to die. And we are both equally desperate, which leads me to believe that you will agree to my pr-proposition.I've always loved the stammering, shy, yet beautiful red-headed 'Wallflower' character of Evie Jenner, and could hardly wait to read her story. Thereafter, she accepted her own feelings while having to convince Sebastian to deal with his feelings for her. The way she whips Sebastian into a hopelessly in love, groveling protector of her heart was amazing. It is finally his best friend who makes a guess that it is because the heroine is ‘so sweet and innocent’ (or something along those lines).

It quickly becomes clear, however, that Evie is a woman of hidden strength – and Sebastian desires her more than any woman he’s ever known. In between there is also the bet that Evie places on her husband that he will remain celibate for 3 months before she sleeps with him. And then I find myself enjoying everything from there; their strange marriage situation, funny banter, how Evie kept trying to run the whole thing, and how Sebastian kept strongly denying his feelings (the measures he would take to deny his feelings was just so funny), their little bet, and how Evie started to grow a spine and show some character growth. Because of that, I could not understand why he had taken such extreme measures when by all accounts his charm and ravishing good looks could have gotten him almost any woman of his choosing. So, if I do reread something in a short time after finishing it that means I really loved it (also see Bunny! So the shy, stuttering heroine (who slips in and out of her character throughout the whole book) approaches the vicious rake and makes him an offer he can’t refuse. Along the way, he realizes that Evie is a far stronger person than he would have expected, and after spending one night in her bed, is surprised to discover how much he still desires her. He looked like a fallen angel, replete with all the dangerous male beauty that Lucifer could devise.

From the New York Times bestselling author Lisa Kleypas comes The Devil in Winter , the third title in the beloved romance series The Wallflowers - perfect for fans of Sarah MacLean, Julia Quinn and Eloisa James. In 1985, she was named Miss Massachusetts and competed in the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City. your romantic history, to put it politely, is like that of a dog who goes to every back door on the street, collecting scraps at every threshold. Evie was a very shy, timid girl who has been abused by her Aunts and Uncles but it seems she has a backbone that shows itself in this storyline. He was awfully rude and condescending to Evie when she came to his house to make her proposition and insulted her even further in his introspections which included a disdain for her shyness and her stutter.

Vincent is portrayed in the last book as a handsome, charming, rake, someone not caring of womens feelings. A little plot summary here: Evie (23) is the shyest of the four looking-for-a-husband wallflowers (Annabelle, Lillian, Evie, Daisy) and is about to inherit the gambling hall owned by her infamous (but on-his-deathbed sickly) father, Ivo Jenner ( Dreaming of You). Plus it is clear that this environment is not as comfortable and cosy as the country manner we were in for the previous two books. I want to know who Evie was before, I want to read about Sebastian’s villainous ways from the book before this one, and I want to see more of Evie’s friends! He is desperate enough to attempt to kidnap a friend of Evie’s to force her to marry him (the previous book in the series).
