About this deal

The video included on the microSD card is helpful – and Elegoo was thoughtful enough to mention the video twice in the printer’s documentation, so that users are aware of it. As much as I am unlikely to use the full print volume for a single item in my public projects (I need to ensure others can print the parts on smaller printers) it does allow me to print several parts overnight or build larger items for personal projects. The ability to change nozzles is welcome and the large touchscreen interface makes for easy control of the machine. On earlier version the PSU fan seemed to run constantly, however on the model I'm testing the PSU fan reduces in volume as its work load decreases.

I had to print two of the torture test models as whilst printing the first one we had an extremely rare power cut.

The power supply has been integrated inside of the base which makes for a slicker visual appeal and one less item to assemble.

However, this seems to have resulted in the need for a fan in the base which continuously moves air through the machine even when the nozzle and bed are not preheated resulting in a continues base level of 'noise' whenever the printer is switched on. All the wiring for the various motors and sensors have already been thoughtfully routed around the machine and present themselves ready for connection alongside the correct component. A bi-metal heartbreak would allow you to do that whilst also exponentially cutting down the risk of heat creep. Simply select Level on the main menu and the printer will heat up to 140 degrees on the nozzle and 60 C on the bed.The next slightly underrated part of the Neptune 3 Pro that I love is the part cooling, and I know that sounds ridiculous, but print quality is influenced by many factors, one of which is part cooling. I was not terribly keen on the process of feeding the filament though the filament detector, robbed gears, Bowden tube, and finally extruder for the earlier model. PEI magnetic platform with a special coating and spring steel sheet for good adhesion and anti-warping, so that prints can be easily released or popped off by bending the print steel sheet. I feel that this one possibly common mistake warrants an additional step to clarify its correct path in the instructions. Carbon fiber material can be printed, but it is not recommended, because the hot end structure of the machine is a built-in PTFE tube + brass nozzle, printing carbon fiber material will cause rapid abrasion of the PTFE tube and nozzle.

Gone is the strain gauge-based auto bed level sensor and PTFE lined hotend, replaced with an incredibly compact all-in-one setup with a compact hotend, a very constrained filament path, a 3:1 geared dual drive extruder, an inductive bed leveling probe, dual 4010 part cooling fans, and a small PCB to route all those connections through a single cable back to the motherboard.inches gives you enough space to freely arrange your prints, print larger models, or carry out batch printing with high efficiency.
