About this deal

In this situation you need to act quickly to open up the brood nest by extracting honey or adding empty drawn comb. Yesterday, I pulled off the honeycomb box to discourage robbing, but I want to keep it (possibly freeze it) to be able to feed back if the bees need it in winter. If you just have a mild flow, they may use the nectar/ honey in the brood chamber to draw comb and move it up. It fitted in my book reading schedule amazingly well as a lovely fun and captivating read after a run of much darker books.

OK, thanks for all the insight DD, sounds identical to my situation, so I will take that advice and follow-suit. Remember, bees do not see foundation as room, so replacing the frames with foundation for them to draw is not really an option at this point. Note that I would NOT feed pollen patties in your case because you're in Louisiana - you have plenty of pollen. One beekeeper told me to raise a few of those honey/syrup frames up into the second deep and replacement positions 3,5,7 in the first deep with foundation-only frames to break up the broodnest and get 'em back on target) That will give the queen room to lay eggs and then hopefully the rest will move up top.

Also, there was little to no character exploration for Prince Finn and it was hard to feel invested in their relationship that flipped on a switch.

The only thing I don't understand is why she hates Finn at the beginning of the book, when he gave her little reason to. The plotline made no sense, conflicts were quickly resolved (no stakes), and the love interest had no chemistry. This book's ability to gently introduce readers to the soothing embrace of cozy literature is an admirable feat that should not be overlooked. If you have two deeps and you are honey bound, the second super full of honey and the queen has nowhere to lay. Since some of this honey was uncapped and some may have been from the organic cane sugar we were feeding this hive, we knew we couldn’t keep it.A previous thread, someone pointed out that honey bound means a large band of capped honey/syrup across the top that deters the queen from crossing it into the next chamber. If you see queen cells, you know they are thinking of swarming and it’s time to give the hive more room. It’s very cozy, and makes me want to curl up with a white chocolate latte (with a flavor other than lavender) and read for a while. I think my hive is becoming honey bound and I think this is also what happened last fall to cause my original hive to swarm. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Although that sole queen cell is on the bottom of the frame, I believe it is a supercedure cell because: there are no other queen cells whatsoever and other evidence indicates a poor/absent queen. I have at least 4 empty bars in their now, so I'm just hoping the queen hatches, mates and starts laying before they build those out and fill them with honey. Particularly for those dipping their toes into the cozy genre for the first time, "Bound By Honey" offers an accessible and enjoyable entry point.Brian’s hive Squill recently became honey bound when a second super was not added to the hive in time and the nectar flow hit. Even though the magic system isn't in depth displayed in this story, you just know that the author has the entire system thought out. For me there were too many different ideas and jumps from one setting to another without spending enough time developing the scenes, or the interactions between characters. At first it wasn't clear who Sage had romantic feelings for as she seemed to warm to all of the Charmed Four, but by end end she finally made up her mind.
