First off, the spin that I was able to generate with the conforming (TT) grooves was very impressive for me.Designed as a premium solution for the recreational golfer, StingRay wedges feature large open square grooves that increase spin by 50% on a full swing. Visually speaking, the full-faced grooves takes some getting used to, but it most certainly helps if you like playing shots off the toe. Rob Lang mentioned they went through countless shaft combos, and this KBS model clearly gave the best feel, flight, and spin combos for most players. non-conforming, as golfers now face the choice of both grinds and finish, although note that satin chrome is the only finish available for the FLX models.

Not only have I become automatic out of the sand, but I consistently get up and down from all around the green. For example 15-6 means I left a 15 foot shot 6 feet short, whereas 15+6 means I hit a 15 foot shot 6 feet past the hole. No need for a big flop swing with this guy, the hinge and pop came out very high and stopped dead out of any lie at any distance I would play that shot from. Even though the original StingRay wedges were incredibly fun, for many it was difficult to take them seriously as they were not approved for play by the USGA. It's no wonder that these clubs have the correct feel and balance and ball striking capability as the top companies in the world golf market.

I initially saw these wedges on the Golfholics YouTube channel when Mike and Marko played some shots with them during their round. Yes, for those that missed it, last year’s StingRay wedge was a non-conforming wedge that had massive grooves, allowing even the most spin-deprived players to experience that hop and stop shot.

Premium feel, maximum spin, and above-average forgiveness are all highlights of what this wedge can offer! I personally like a little more rounded toe on my 60's but just because it gives me a TINY bit more confidence when opening up the face. A lot of that is because of how I play my wedges around the greens, but I found my comfort level with these so much faster than I did with the FLX grinds.

Having been one to play with the original non-conforming Indi wedge and reading your review on this one, I really want to give it a go and see how it performs. I prefer the matte black, and, through a couple weeks of steady testing, found the finish to be quite durable. Where I’ve used it: Pheasant Acres golf course/driving range in Corcoran, MN, and Fox Hollow golf course in St. With the release of the TT wedges, Indi Golf has removed that final hurdle, which could be enough to help find their products in more bags across the country.

If you can hit a low draw in a sweeping motion instead of hitting down on it, you will be able to rip it back 50+ ft from 60 yards out on a receptive green. I keep repeating it, but it’s super soft, I can hit it high or keep it low and it never fails to generate above average spin for me on well-struck shots. The problem is that you will throw one right at the stick and suck it all the way back off the front of the green. I have never been one to rely on high spin on approach shots, but with this one, I needed to change my process a bit.
