Everything here works for me in the opening, and I thought, "Perfect for the office or for a date scent selection.

What I disagree about is the lasting power - on me this projects pretty well for about 5 hours, still smells quite clear on my skin with some projection for 9 hours and doesn't disappear for 12+ hours. Scent last 1 minute this is not even a exaggeration smell lasts a minute and if you unfortunately spray on clothes there it gives an aroma of sweaty stale clothes. At the start, Mesmerize has an almost-effervescent aspect like some 50s-era fragrances (think Moustache or Tabu)and the apple is the key note (although it is like a SweetTarts version). This handblown glass fixture stands in a perfect rectangle complete with gold embossed wording of the most 'erotic testing' word. It is not too sweet and could work as a man's scent (yes, I know they made a Mesmerize for Men, too, but I mean if that was not available).I really liked it, I am going to keep the cologne for autumn,it is a very warm,comforting scent,just let it settle down on your skin.

Titus Andronicus sounds nice, will have to see if he won't mind the amber (it is BLACK amber after all)! The real downside is the longevity, on me it's down to mostly sweet traces in a couple hours (though that seems to linger on for a number of hours more). It's an unusual amount of class on display here, and while this teters between typical eau de cologne strength Avon was still keen on using for it's masculines all the up until the 2010's, it does have comparable sillage and longevity to a designer eau de toilette from the era due to its heady components, just not the longevity to match its loud manifesto. Update: I had to come back you guys and update to let you know I sprayed this on my wrist at 12:30 pm and its now 12:30am I can still smell it.

This one is different than traditional Avon kind of scents and I guess Avon is experimenting with gourmands this year (when you think about the other recent launches). mY HUSBAND LIKES THIS AND i'M SO GLAD BECAUSE HE SOMETIMES OVERDOES THE COLOGNE AND RUNS ME OUT OF THE ROOM WHEN HE SPRAYS IT ON. Mesmerize is a lovely, smoky, gourmand oriental and it's distinctively different than La vie Est Belle except a similar whiff goes for the opening thanks to the scent's gourmand quality. Something in this blends so very well with my skin that people who HATE this scent love it on me, and I'm glad.
