About this deal

Read more Taking everything into account: ease of use, features, build quality, display clarity, suitability for school/college use, nothing else comes near. It may be out of fear of loosing sales of the fx9860gii as a consequence, but that may not have happened because it's sturdier, has a bigger display panel, and the SD versions of it offer memory expansion via SD cards. Whatever the reason, for a calculator that's almost universally adopted by college students, both here and overseas, it's disgusting that Casio haven't put this right!

Casio markets itself as a simple to use and affordable alternative to their competitors, and that once again turns out to be true. The other useful apps include: lists, matrices, dynamic functions, an app for graphing conics, recursion, financial functions, and an app for simultaneous equations and polynomials. You can obtain PDF manuals for the fx-9750GII, and these manuals will also cover the fx-9860GII/fx-9860GII-SD, with small changes as noted in those manuals. There are calculators like the TI NSpire CX CAS, that leave it for dead in terms of capability, but CAS calculators are banned for GCSE, most A-Levels, and also by a lot of universities as well. Also if you’ve used any Casio graphing calculator in the past this will be similar and you should pick it up immediately. From the list screen, you can press the “F2” button (the tab on the screen shows CALC, so this takes you to the calculations options). You can't plot functions directly expressed in both x and y; they must expressed only in terms of one variable. The system is definitely still usable, I’m just a little disappointed that Casio didn’t think this aspect through a little better.

While you're trying to figure out how to do a t-test, or an hypothesis testing on a binomial distribution, the fx9750gii owner has got the answer and is on their way to the next question!

Not the current solar powered model but excellent value for money and came complete with instructions and Casio software DVD ROM. You'll need a copy of the latest fxRemote, a copy of the latest available fx-9860GII BIOS, the USB cable that connects your calculator to the computer, and finally a relatively fresh set of batteries. The fx-9750GII graphs lines about twice as fast as the TI-84 Plus CE (Texas Instruments’ newest TI-84 calculator).

The button layout and menu system of the 9750GII is almost identical to the 9860GII, and that’s a good thing. Assuming it was allowed in an A-level Maths exam; in many instances, its extra facilities wouldn't compensate for it being slower to use. In fact, sometimes I have seen it for half of the big name calculators, and yet you can have a brand new graphing calculator. This is one of the smaller graphing calculators on the market, but it’s still big enough to see the screen clearly, and the buttons are a nice size as well. However, you are still able to program in Casio Basic, and everything else works like the fx-9860GII except for those points. The Casio fx-9750GII has one of the most capable programming interfaces of most graphing calculators.
