About this deal

New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . Bunnings did replace it, at first they wanted to send it back for repair, after a heated discussion, the manager agreed to replace with a new one.

The first lasted about 2 months before it started playing up, started stopping and starting when running.I absolutely love it and wish I had spent the money years ago as it would have made my life much easier a long time ago. the laser is a gimmick, the lines simply aren't fine enough and you should always bring the bit down to the workpiece to align and mark it. Some manufacturers will offer a direct repair or replacement service (as applicable) which will often resolve your problem more quickly. The laser marker is accurate and the power of the unit seems more than adequate for a DIYer like me. The drill seems relatively square, there is a tiny amount of movement in the pillar when applying a lot of pressure to the workpiece which tends to put the second hole in 50mm box section slightly off but as long as you don't apply too much pressure the drill is quite square for most of my needs. Robert Bosch Tool Corporation in North America was formed in January 2003 when Robert Bosch GmbH combined its North American power tool and power tool accessory divisions into one organization. There is little side to side movement in the drill shaft, and the movement in chuck spindle is horrendous. It also has a built in light (very useful), and a built in laser (not so useful, but still nice to have).A : Hi Tom, I'm not sure what application you have in mind, but the Bosch PBD 40 can't be used for milling in the usual sense of the word as it is only designed to go up or down on the vertical axis. They say it's easy to use, great for drilling accurately and repeatedly, and is a good wood working tool. Even round workpieces can be fixed conveniently using the quick-action clamp for an absolutely precise drilling result. Some struggle with the fact there's no handle on the wheel but it does have a big advantage in pen making. With that done, it so far (very little use as yet) does seem to do that job exactly as I had hoped - clearly, however, I must confine operations to 'small bursts' to avoid excessive heating of cutting bits, which will be frustrating when working on 2 metre lengths of moulding, for example, which would normally require about 5 minutes per cutting operation.
