About this deal

One of the most loved brands we have on offer is The English Whisky Company, who are England’s oldest whisky maker. Szor estimates that the current combined output of all English distilleries is below one million lpa; that’s less than the capacity of a mid-sized scotch distillery like Glencadam.

The same cask will have been used to mature the three previous blends, meaning the oak comes further to the fore than the sherry. Everyone knows what single malt and bourbon are, but nobody knows what bourbon-style English whisky is. Indulge your senses with this remarkably smooth Founder’s Reserve, limited edition whisky, matured in a single ex-Bordeaux wine cask.Among its key characteristics is an initial fruitiness that conjures various sweet desserts, from banoffee pie to cherry tarts, and a shaving of chocolate orange.

Ten years ago, if someone had said there would be a proper whisky distillery in Yorkshire, you wouldn’t have believed them,” says Spirit of Yorkshire whisky director Joe Clark. As for the English Whisky Guild’s evolution, it will require consensus on batch versus continuous distillation, using pot or column stills, and whether to insist on 100% English grains, which could make life difficult for peated whisky producers. Being small batch releases means there will be variations in each bottling, but the distillery has a clear house style which underpins each release. However, each brand tends to have its own distinct flavour, so no matter what your taste, you’re sure to find a bottle of English whisky that you love. The English Whisky Co released its first whisky in 2009, which makes it something of an old timer in England’s whisky revival. Medium-bodied, light in colour, with fragrant notes of heather-honey, butterscotch and crème caramel, balanced with a touch of peatiness and hints of peaty smoke from the Islay cask.

Ltd got permission to build the first registered whisky distillery in England for over a century; it first release of single malt occurred in 2009; which became the only English Whisky to have been bottled and released for over 100 years. Production is split between the working farm and the distillery, with 4 tons of malted barley put through its mash tun and 10,000-liter fermenters annually, using equipment shared with the brewery. Cotswolds recently expanded, making it one of the largest whisky distilleries in England, with a 2-ton mash tun, a 10,000-liter wash still, and 7,500-liter spirit still, increasing production capacity from 125,000 lpa up to a potential 750,000.Bristol Distillery (founded in the 17th century) — produced grain whisky which was "sent to Scotland and Ireland to make a Blended Scotch and Irish whisky, for whisky purpose it is specially adapted, and stands in high favour". At the centre of the operation is whisky maker Dhavall Gandhi, a man who is hands-on in the entire process, from the cooperage to bottling. They also have a fantastic rye whisky, and if you’re looking to make a whisky cocktail with a kick then a bottle of this is just the ticket.

To make this whisky, the Bimber team sources malt whisky from Scotland (with a minimum age of 12 years) and blends it before finishing it in casks that previously contained its own much sought after single malt. After putting the initial release of single malt (Chapter 6 in the saga) on our site, it sold out almost instantly. Proudly brought to you by The London Distillery Company these Whiskey’s have the distinction of being the distilled in London. English Malt is whisky made from a cereal grain and water that has been distilled at least twice in a copper pot still and matured in wooden casks of at least 700 litres for a minimum of three years.Their initial launch featured a trio of releases, each using a different cask for maturation: ex-Oloroso Sherry, ex-Bourdeaux and, our favourite, ex-Bourbon. The General Wine Company sources wines from all over the world, but with a particular focus on small, independent producers.
