About this deal

The theme of manipulation to commit a crime was far more subtly handled, from the staging of Othello to the consideration of how this might work in a gay relationship. Agatha Christie wrote a murder based on Othello and suggestions by a manipulator; I always thought it an awful and unreal mystery. Opening day in New York City was a tremendous success, with throngs of travelers crowding into the terminal. But this time Robinson brought a spy element into the story; MI-5 gets involved on the fringes of the investigation as one of their agents was murdered.

Delightful vocals, solid songwriting from begging to end, great production; And Frontal Lobe is a damn heavy track. It doesn't have a series of murders or anything like that but instead focuses on the troubled world of its female protagonist played by cult actress Edwige Fenech.

Too many questions are left unanswered to suit Banks' "copper's curiosity," and soon the stubborn and diligent chief inspector embarks on a further investigation -- unofficial -- into the untimely deaths of the two gay lovers.

Fair play to Peter Robinson: in this story, Banks becomes embroiled with the spooks (MI5/MI6) and we all know the rules of literary engagement; you can't win against these people.Owen's always been a little different, and before long others in the community are baying for his blood. That which looked pretty straightforward initially, soon began to take twists and turns that made the ride quite a lot of fun. Used to city life and high stress, Harry fears his life will now be spent handing out speeding tickets, finding lost sheep, and directing tourists. I enjoyed this book but can't say that it is up to par with the other Inspector Banks novels I've read to date.

Summary: The eighteenth book in the Chief Inspector Alan Banks series has a commendable freshness, excellent sense of place and is a real page turner. Showboat Medical Examiner Margot Heavner makes it clear that, breaking with her department’s earlier practice ( The Bone Collection, 2016, etc. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Annie Cabbot, as usual, is drawn in by the charisma of her boss, and puts her career, and her life, on the line. The only good thing I can really say for it is that it really makes you pay attention to the fine line that separates superb writing from, well, this.
