About this deal

This anarchic picture book shows that mixing supermarkets and ‘saurs is bound to end in a messy disaster. He loves to find the hiding dinosaurs and cackles out loud when they sneakily move from aisle to aisle. This resource has been organised in two different ways to give teachers flexibility with the way the text is covered.

English Year 2: Develop pleasure in reading, motivation to read, vocabulary and understanding by discussing and clarifying the meanings of words, linking new meanings to known vocabulary. Combining this with dinosaurs will ensure this book is popular with young readers - and the denouement, in which the dinosaurs are seen cleaning up after themselves (and having fun doing it) is sure to please parents too!

He comes across dinosaurs who cause havoc in the aisles, but the adults do not believe the young boy because they cannot see the dinosaurs. This Reading Skills resource contains a range of questions about ‘Dinosaurs in the Supermarket’ by Timothy Knapman and Sarah Warburton. There are plenty of amusing dinosaur hiding places to spot in the bright and visually-entertaining page spreads.

A little boy’s trip to the supermarket is turned upside down when a band of dinosaurs wreak havoc in the aisles. This is a used book - there is no escaping the fact it has been read by someone else and it will show signs of wear and previous use. The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Only one little boy is observant enough to spot the dinosaurs all around the supermarket and the fact that their antics are causing chaos.

English Year 1: Understand both the books they can already read accurately and fluently and those that they listen to by drawing on what they already know or on background information and vocabulary provided by the teacher; discussing the significance of the title and events; making inferences on the basis of what is being said and done; and predicting what might happen on the basis of what has been read so far. When reading this to the children, they were keen to point out their favourite dinosaur - visual learning.
